Acer H5370BD - Impressions

Thank you. 800VA is supporting the PJ, and when I switch off the mains, its powering it easily. However, the issue is happening when there is power and maybe due to some other issue I guess.

to be true most of the android sticks are cheapo chinese stuff and nutin works flawless so taking android route is still distant dream if you want flawless experience. rather take a media player and that should do the job..
look for wd tv live.

htpc will be the best bet..
I have been using the mk808 android stick for more than an year. Chinese but works, plays anything that you throw at it. Able to connect a wireless keyboard/mouse and browsing net on the TV. I dont think it supports 3D..

Call me whatever, it has happened twice this month that I have missed this offer twice on 14th April and till 28th April by 1 day... see still I am thinking whether to click on that buy button or wait.... I suppose its still hard to make a purchase at $539 in newegg when the same thing has been sold at $399 a few days back.... Anyways as my another friend is coming in July.... I can wait for a couple of months more for another offer, once again.... Hopefully I wont be a day late and be on time, this time...

those tiny screws will hold it more than sufficient.. this PJ is feather weight compared to other PJ's.. most of us are using ceiling mount with same 3 screws and works just fine
i never stated that android boxes are crap.. or say bad.. what i meant to say is these are still on the way to be called " good " if you plan to spend 56-60$ why no get a media player like wd tv live for around 100$ yes its expensive and almost double the price but i would say its a safer bet..
also as another FM mentioned that he has been using android stick..
you can look for particular model or newer ones in the same series but they will be around 60-70$ as well..
I am using a ceiling mount, which I converted to a wall mount to fix my H5379BD. I am relying on those three screws, which I think is reliable.
Interesting....Did you fix it behind your seating position? Can you show some pics if possible. Seems like a nice idea to get a larger picture if space is limited.

Mine is a very small room (8 x 11) and I sit towards the rear wall. I fixed it above the seating position on the wall as I have a sloping roof. Will share some snaps soon

Awesome set up. Innovative I must say. Looking more clean to me than ceiling mount. Few front pics as well please.

Perhaps you can add one more wall cover line until projector to give it more neat look.
Also, I see that your surrounds are way above your seating position. Are you getting good effects. I guess if you move it little down, it will rock your experience.
Can you PM me the cost and source of your wall mount. Did you face any challenge while mounting?

As @Premblr said, the doors are obstructing me from placing the speakers at optimal level. I tried placing it in a stand on the side, on the rear wall and even bit in front, but none gave me a good experience. Finally, had to settle for these positions and to compensate I had to increase the rear speaker level while doing calibration. Now I am enjoying the experience, though it is not the best I can. I am thinking of buying two speaker wall mounts and fix those surrounds bit more lower on the back wall, angled towards the listening position. Not sure whether it will work out, but will try soon.
@Vinay2013, Did you mean the cable casing? If yes, my HDMI cable is only 5m in length and is now stretched to its limit. I will have to buy a longer one before I complete the casing. I brought the mount from ebay for around 700 Rs, but had to tweak it a bit to fix the PJ and make it a wall mount and buy additional matching screws to fix the Acer 5370BD projector (This PJ do not have standard vesa holes and hence the tweaking). That was not very hard though. If you have a drilling machine, you can easily fix the PJ to the wall, as the PJ mount even comes with metal fissures to fix it.

Hi guys I got my acer h5380bd (new model) delivered today through ishopinternational. Wow what an experience. Thrilled to see large and crisp images. thanks to this thread for taking this decision. see few images on the first day of my projector.the images are on the wall. I will now hunt for the screen and other stuff to complete my setting. I am thinking to buy 100 inch logic manual screen.

congrats on the buy folks... enjoy your big screen i am past 200+ hours on my PJ and enjoyed every bit of it.. every guest at my place is now going nuts with the movie experience in my HT room..

Thanks guys. The above images were from dish HD. Checked bluray (avtaar) in the night. PQ was just great. Will post some pics of bluray in couple days. Can u guys tell me what should be the throw distance for 100 inch screen. My rear wall would be about 15 feet from the proposed screen. At such a distance I think the screen projection would be much higher than 100 inch but I cannot afford screen higher than 100 inch. I suppose in such case I need to mount my projector in ceiling rather than on the rear wall. Can u please help me on this
