All That Jazz ...

Wow , I have the Coltrane Atlantic Years box set, this one looks equally attractive. Congrats and (sigh!!)
I'm equally envious of your Coltrane Atlantic Years box. Been after it for years. But with the Discogs Marketplace being unavailable in India now, I don't see that happening anytime soon.

@sameer kumar
Great haul, Sameer! All of them would find a place in any Top 100 list.

@Fiftyfifty
12 wives?!? I can barely handle one! :)

@acemachine26
To be honest, all you need are these individual albums: Giant Steps, Coltrane’s Sound, Plays the Blues, Ole Coltrane, Coltrane Jazz and My Favorite Things.
I have the box set on CD and never listen to the alternate takes and outtakes.

Speaking of Coltrane ... I have this on standby for later tonight.

Thank you
Baby steps on vinyl journey.. collecting vinyl versions of albums which are very dear to me. Zero hit & run so far🙂

The Ponty record I got was a near-mint Japanese pressing of Enigmatic Ocean. Didn't know L.Subramaniam and Grappelli played together! His album on ECM 'Who's to Know' is a big-time favourite.
Many decades ago, Enigmatic ocean was the album when I first heard Allan Holdsworth who played in 2 or 3 tracks with Ponty.It was a life changing moment.

Nice to see another FM get hooked on Blue Note! :)

@coaltrain listing just 11 albums is not kosher! Need at least 50 or 100 considering the wealth of great jazz in their recording history

Your wish is my command, 50/50! :)
Here are some screenshots from my music catalogue app. These are probably my most frequently played records.
Do keep in mind that there are a variety of styles you’ll find on BN; from hard bop to modal jazz to avant garde. Which means that while The Sidewinder is universally loved, for example, not everyone is going to warm to Unit Structures. Please feel free to post a query if you need more info on any of the albums below.

Blue note is fantastic. We dont talk enough about Contemporary, Candid or Concord or Pablo Records and so many others.

To be honest, for me it’s a case of ‘so much music; too little money!’ :)
The link below is a treasure trove of information on every album on every jazz label out there since 1950. The sheer volume of music is staggering.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
