ALL tripath2020 lovers get it at home for ~1500

Adding this to just be on record.

I too, ordered Cambridge Audio S30 from technoguru.in for 9500rs. :yahoo: Note that online price is higher, but after talking with sales representative price could be adjusted. So have a talk before you buy.
Dealer in Pune said that he no more stocks Cambridge Audio speaker products. So had little option. Other thing to note is, all warranty claims go to manufacturer directly, technoguru would not act as middleman in those cases.

9500rs is in my opinion very descent price. Other possible alternative(SQ and price range wise) is Wharfedale 10.1 (barring JBL control 1). However it(wharf) costs around 15000rs which is much more than that of CA S30. In this price range S30 should be a great choice.

Cheers!

Why not Arjen Helder's T amp?I think they are best available though little costly and you need to manage all hardware.

^ Indeed Hi Fi ......... its GOT to be a superb product ... these are the guys who might have made a fortune selling the Topping TP 20 amp all over the world. So, why not make it themselves and sell direct? And, it is also quite possible that they might have ironed out whatever little deficiencies that might have been present in the Topping amp ..... well, I did'nt find any myself.

But, this price EXCLUDES the power supply, mind you!

A question here, indeed hifi amp has a big 4700uF Capacitor. I think its copy of Helder's design(to give power when required, in case of bass heavy input). Can anybody comment?

Yes this amp looks good, with all Panasonic FC caps, shielded coils etc.I would still buy Arjen Helder's Tripath because of proven design, original components, good output coils, thick PCB,2 big Polypropylene caps etc.It will not need any upgrade(IMO).

I have sent a few mails to Helder asking him if he can provide me a finished topping amp with his kits. But, no response from him. Does anyone know if such requests are entertained? Since I am not into DIY, I need a finished amp.

sorry if am being off-topic here, but could anyone please tell me how do they fare in comparison to fiio e7/e10, or even whether is this a fair match? a friend of mine needs an amp/DAC to drive his headphones and a couple of aiwa/sony speakers, and is confused between the two.

I am with you on this, thinking on the same lines.
I need an amp to amplify TV sound and, here looks & style are more important than a DIY cabinet. I have an old pair of 4" JBL car speakers lying idle and would fit these speakers in some locally available sound boxes. Basically dont want to keep the Denon 1611 on all the time along with TV.

I am sorry but Muse amp box is not well made.It even has a chrome plated plastic volume knob.It will not last long. Its VFM though.

Sachin

Hi,

JBL and in general many car speakers have low sensitivity , about 86 db/w/m. Just check the sensitivity of your speakers before pairing it with T2020.

Nope, the 2 aren't comparable.

E7/E10 are headphone amps; their output power is measured in terms of Milli-Watts, good enough for headphones, but nowhere near what a speaker would require. An irrationally heavy load like speakers would probably burn out the amp.

The Tripath Amps are speakers amps, and their output power is in terms of 10's of Watts. The amp would probably burn out head-phones if hooked up to them.

thanks for that reply! i discern then that probably TP30 would be a more sensible choice for him. let me bother a few members now by PMing them :D

As any one tried to pair this amp TA2020 with Wharfedale Diamond 9.1? I have read in this forum it pairs well with CA S30 and JBL speakers but wanted feed back on Diamond 9.1.

thanks,
