I just moved in to a house with two built in speakers so I now need to purchase an inexpensive AVR. Right now I have a jbl soundbar hooked up to my HDTV with a digital optical wire. The jbl is an sb100 and HDTV is samsung not sure what model but has digital outputs and I'm sure has all other kinds audio outs digital is probably my best bet right now though. I use chromecast and a ps4 and everything plays fine through the bar. Can I do the same with a used AVR assuming I will be connecting it with either digital coax or digital optical (won't get hdmi due to my budget). My question is will everything play as normal if I just have the AVR hooked up to the tv like my soundbar? Also is it even worth it if I only have the two rears on my ceiling? Thanks in advance!
