B & W 683s matching amp

Hello every body. I have B & W 683 Speaker. I am looking for speaker's matching amp. Can you all help me out pls.

Depends on your budget.

But ideally with the 683, you can look at

Rotel Power Amp Rb-1572 0r RB-1582 + Rotel Preamp RC-1580

Or another option sell the B&W's to me :ohyeah::ohyeah:

Thank s for good advice but thing is that am not going sale my speaker. So you washout that thing from your mind. I just looking for good matching amp for my speaker. One thing two amp in my mind 1. Cayin 265ai and 2. Sugden a21a ( both are pure class a ) amp. Thanks

I agree with Flash. Look at Rotel, the 683 were designed with Rotel and Classe electronics. You will get best bang for the buck with Rotel electronics.
If you seek higher sound look at upgrading to a higher model of B&W and add a Class A amp with at least 100++ watts.

What sort of music do you listen to?

And about Flash, please dont take his suggestion of buying the speakers to heart, he is one of the resident b&w fanatics. I am sure there are many of us who will love to relieve you of the speakers and the burden of looking for amps if you would like. but if you would prefer, we would equally love to suggest you good amps to take advantage of the same.

the Cayin 265ai, have you listened to that amp? I had listened to it at sks and found it to be wonderfully smooth, detailed and rounded, not bright but on the warm side - 40 W of pure class a. the sugden is also a very good amplifier. both will go well with the 683. Rotel is also said to work well. But which you will prefer will depend on your musical tastes. So, what sort of music do you like and how do you like it to sound?

Chill Dude......... It was a joke ... I'm not eyeing your speakers .....:ohyeah::ohyeah:

Have you auditioned the Cayin and Sugden ?

Try to get a demo with the Marantz KI Lite amp, heard this pairing & they sounded very good. The KI also had good grip on them.

i have heard nad pair well with b&w also... speak to @ashishkesarwani if he can ship the used nad pre+power he has on sale in the forum.

if not, rotel, classe, marantz are all worthy partners... might include arcam too.

IMO - NAD would be a strict no - no with the B&W 600 series FS

The only reason B&W and Rotel are 'paired' is because they have same ownership. They are not a particularly good match. I would look for warmer amps such as Marantz or top end Denon if budget is a concern. No experience on Sudgen though.

Umm, warm and Marantz in the same sentence? Interesting.

Maybe you can put your experiences with Marantz to see how different they are....

Well haven't heard a lot of Marantz gear. Just the PM5004, 6003, 8004 (KI Pearl Lite) and a couple of receivers with my Titans and a few other speakers. Overall found them to be brighter than most other amps in the same bracket (NAD/Denon/Arcam/CA/Yamaha).

Well , the 600 series are warm, mating them to a warm amplifier makes them sound dull and lifeless.

I have an Arcam integrated which i initially paired with the B&W albeit BS. The B&W's sounded dull/ lifeless, I even connected a Rotel power amp to the integrated and used the integrated as a preamp. however the synergy was absolutely pathetic.

ruengma recently heard the Arcam's I am talking about with some other loudspeakers and he owns a Arcam a well so he can confirm the warm signature.
However since you mentioned Warm amps I've used the Arcam as a reference point.

Warm amps mate well with brighter speakers - aka Paradigm / KEF/ Polk etc

B&W 600 series being warm in nature would require a brighter / neutral amp Rotel / Creek etc

With the CM 7 / 9 series or 800D series yes a Warmer amp would be prefereable since they have tremendous amount of detail.

It also boils down to listening tastes .
