Bangalore Hifi meet 2011?

Namskara Raghu

As per our discussion today afternoon, we will provide standing space to all early registrants-provided they confirm and show up on time, standing space to all late comers.Accordingly post 30th, we can post the final list and ask people to confirm attendance, so your planning is easier.

We will also need some volunteers to help out with taking gear up to the room on 2nd floor, wiring up and testing some gear prior to the kickoff, Santhosh will post details shortly. You bakras will have to come to the venue in Indiranagar a bit earlier that day so that as a team we can get things prepared in time. Please PM me if you can spare some time.

Thanks

Just found this thread. Would love to attend along with RoC and Sandeep. Tentative as of now. If attending, will carry my Audio Analogue integrated. If someone can provide a pre-amp, RoC is willing to bring his McCormack power amp. Also on offer are Einstein ICs.

Count me in if my name isn't already in the list. I don't have much in the way of hifi equipment. I have a budget 2.1 set (klipsch promedia 2.1) and would be in possession of the hrt ms 2 dac soon. I can certainly get the dac if I get it by the date, and probably the speakers as well if it seems to add to the collection.

PS: I didn't post explicitly on this thread earlier as I had started the DIY thread which was later merged with this.

Hemanth, canchi, spg, madhu7, Bluu, RoC, sandeep, Prasun, Reji=9 more. In addition to the initial 38+ Anil, so we are now at 48.

I think we may be hard pressed to accommodate more, what do you think Raghu?

Don't know how I missed this thread. Hope it is not too late. I would like to attend. Either of the dates is fine. I will bring in my DIY DAC integrated with MyRef. My spkrs would be a ton...so will not bother...

Can volunteer my time, if the organizers need....

Cheers , Gopi

Hi Everybody,

What did I miss?

I guess there is a house full!

Since I am working on that Sunday :( . Hopefully, later in the day I may peep into the Sound setup and meet you guys for real.

Cheers!

GEORGE,

Just got busy.

46 would be too much i think.
It is only 36 seats and +/- 5 would do for standing.

Hope we had a bigger audi and accommodated all

This thread (and others like these) should show up as stickys on the front page. I happened to stumble upon now it else I would have signed up much earlier. I guess we (RoC, Sandeep and myself) will back out for this one. Next time, please do keep the Bangy boys in the loop as much as possible and arrange for a bigger auditorium since there are clearly a lot of interested people. Have fun!

Relax guys, no need to back out or worry about standing... not just yet. IMO, some of the names in the list are from when the thread started a few months ago and may not be current.

Also friends, expect changes to the agenda too as we have quite a few components being brought in by both members and commercial members. Will collate this info and post back here tomorrow.

Bluu, relax there should be enough space for all( Raghu will confirm). Santhosh and Raghu will work out the plan shortly for people to confirm their participation, by means of a poll or something similar, so that we know who all really plan to come.

This meet is developing into a really good one with excellent participation planned, from mutliple commercial vendors too, so if you miss this one out, you run the risk of not coming for another one, as good as this, until next year!

Though I'd love to meet the forum members from Bangalore, I didn't express interest because I should not stand in the way of the locals who should get preference (IMHO) If the list is not final and if there is a possibility, kindly consider my name too.:)

Greetings from Lakozy!!

Santhosh called in the other day to check if we can send some equipment for demo. I have organized things with M/s Final Touch Bangalore - Mr. Akash Dembla ( 98860 56563 ). He is our dealer in Bangalore.

@Santhosh - Hope you would have spoken to him and finalized the list of equipments for demo. Last I checked the list was as follows:

PSB - Image B6
PSB - Image T6
PSB - Synchrony 2B

NAD - C326
NAD - C356

I believe the hall is too big for bookshelves. However, we still plan to play them for you people to get an idea of the PSB-NAD sound.

Santhosh, let me know if you need any further help on this.

So does it mean all the lyrita stuff is also out for the auditioning

Hi,

As of now I will be attending the meet.Hopefully nothing will come up at the last minute to mess up my plans. I might be a little late as I plan to come by the Shatabdi.

I can bring my Lyrita Phono stage.

What cartridges will be used at the meet? If there are MC cartridges I will have to bring the step up transformer also.

Any tube amps being demoed?

Regards
Rajiv

P.S. Don't mind standing if all seats are taken up.

Santhosh is updating info, with details of the equipment that various vendors are planning to bring for auditioning, along with some good suggestions about efficient ways to go about it. In addition he has some other ideas, he will post tomorrow.

Sorry I have not been able to post the details today as I have been outside the whole day with no access to a computer (difficult to type/format such a detailed post over phone).

A quick update is that I have received details on what components our commercial members Akash(Final Touch via Lakozy), Abhishek(Audio Dynamics), Jochen Semler(The Listening Room) are bringing. Sridhar of ARN will confirm ~1 week before the event.

GeorgeO, santhol2:
Accomodating only 38 +- 2 is fine (as per the room constraint). What about others?
Is there anyother alternative? I feel it would be good to have them all. (Leaving others sounds little rough!!) Afterall its an event get-together of the "HFV bangalore chapter". Can it be possible to have 2 sessions on the same day? May be not, but again thinking about other folks who would be missing in the first 38 lot (May be the agenda can be updated with 2 sessions to accomodate all of them)!! Just my 2 paisa!

Relax we will make best efforts to accommodate everyone-even if a few have to stand. As I mentioned in an earlier post we also have a smaller room available on the ground floor for auditions. I would call it more of a Bangalore Hifi meet, rather than Hifivision Bangalore chapter, as I mentioned in the opening post. There will be members, and friends, as well as exhibitors who may not be members.

Once Santhosh posts his update later today, we will have a much better idea of the way the programme is being structured, and I dont expect all who turn up to remain right through the day-some will come early, others late, some will go early and others stay on.
