BS/FS for a 11x18 room.

well thats personal.
a good stand cost+bs=maybe fs....

so its personal...i would buy simple table and diy its stability and keep bs upon it

Can't I mount BS on a glass top which is screwed to the wall with the help of heavy F brackets? Or do I compulsorily need to have BS stands?

Coz the stands itself costs a lot and you are true that you would get FS in the total sum of BS+stands

You can place them on the glass shelves & have rubber/plastic tabs at the bottom of the speakers so they don't move but in this case I think the speakers being rear ported it might not be apt.

Hi,

Can I assume that 10 series can not be wall mounted then as it is rear ported.? What would be the best placement option ?
Should we invest in a decent speaker stands for 10 series BS?

Thanks,
Sunil

I would strongly recommend getting speaker stands if you are planning to use bookshelves as the fronts.

A table top, bookcase or any other solution to keep bookshelves on will only take you halfway into your journey towards music/movie enjoyment. An oft-ignored aspect of audio reproduction is speaker placement. Having dedicated speaker stands will help you to:
(1) Isolate the speaker so as to reduce vibrations
(2) Play around with speaker placements and achieve optimal speaker placement for best sound quality.

Best,
APK.

Most high end Book Shelf speakers require 1 foot min distance from the wall at the rear. Check this requirement if you plan for wall mounted brackets.
