Hi Shrey,
I'm also in the same situation: Sony 42w800 or LG 42la6910
After a long demo of both TV's I almost fell for LG with all it's glittering features compared to Sony, but then 2D quality what matters the most for me. Below are my observations:
LG:
Good:
1.Awesome 3d effects (Played Avengers final scene).
2.2D to 3D was stunning too(Transformers 3 intro scene).
3.USB recording.
Bad:
PQ is good BUT:
Cricket was put on while I was demoing.
1. I noticed there was lot(noticeable) of blur(ghosting) effect while the camera was moving along the ground & while the players were chasing around.
2. The colors looked as if they were peeling out of their regions.
Sony:
Good:
1. Amazing PQ (No blur or color peeling as in LG set).
2. 3D is excellent (still felt LG was better).
Bad:
1. 2D to 3D was kind of bad.
My primary consideration has been Sony, but after looking at LG set in the store I almost changed my decision....but then, I caught ghosting effect pretty easily. That is no-go for me. Well all the above is in my own personal opinion.
Were you able to find that kind of blur effect while you were demoing the LG set? Let me know your opinions on this.
