Rahul, can you please share the price of 47 W800 at Nandilath and Lulu.

47 ,I am not sure.I have not checked it yet. But if you ar planning to get one, please do get it from Nandila as they have told me that they will be able to give us the cheaper price for any TV when compared to any other dealers in kerala.

not sure whether you know that They are the dealers who gave got a BMW 5 from Samsung for maximum TV sales during an Onam season, somewhere in 2011 or 10.

So I am pretty sure they will give you the max discount provided you have to bargain a lot.

Thanks Rahul. It is hard to beat that price by anyone, Rs.15000 off Rs.82900 MRP (18%). I am not expecting the same level for 47, and my bargaining skills aren't that great either. I am optimistic about something in the range of Rs.90000, planning to visit Nandilath over this weekend.

The TV should be OFF (connected through Power cord but off). In Sony remote press I+ followed by 5 then Vol- and finally Power. You should get the service menu and able to see the details. See this post for more details

Usage shows all Zeros.

It is not a great offer IMHO. There is nothing special about the offer. Even if you buy just the blu ray player (without the TV), it comes with 5 blu ray discs and 1 HDMI cable (as offer)

Also you don't get to choose the movies. I was offered all 3 Toy Stories and 2 more (forgot). Now each blu ray disc generally costs about a 800-1200 Rs. (depending on the movie). So if there was an option of choosing the movies may be I would have gone with the offer. To add to it I found the blu ray player less than 10k on ebay (new ones). I would have expected Sony to give only the player for 5k if you buy the TV from them.

Anyway I am personally planning to get the PS4 (so will wait without the BD player for some time). But if you are anyway planning to buy the blu ray player, give this offer a thought before looking at other options.

I am planning to buy 42w800a. I am comparing this TV with LG 42LA6620. How about the sound quality in Sony one.. I feel LG quality is OK and not that great.

As I understand from this thread. Sony 2D to 3D conversion is not gr8 and I dont bother about that as Sony scores in PQ.

How about Sound and Wifi. Is there any web browser and builtin apps available in Sony ?

Pls. throw some lights on this.

w850 is 3-4 k costlier than w800 but it has TRILUMINOS display, picture is more vivid and colourful n i having w950 u would luv the colours, i think diwali offers are already out saw the ad yeaterday on our local newspaper , to my surprsie w800 wasnt mentioned in that ad maybe it would be discontinued

@sivasubbusn keep your eyes closed and go for W850.. i would also suggest you to wait for some genuine reviews, its really worth.
