Hi all,
I want to connect my PC to w800 to play games and movies. Do I need HDMI cable for doing this? Can any suggest me which cable is best and also do they have some version numbers? What else do I need if I want to connect TV and my PC. Please let me know.

Use HDMI cable if your GPU has HDMI out. This will give better picture and audio. You can use any hdmi cable. Branded cables like bandridge, belkin, profilink etc. are very good. If there is no HDMI out then you use VGA cable.
Switch on the wifi-direct option in the mobile. Enable the wifi direct on the tv from network settings. Scan for wifi direct devices from the tv itself and accept connection.
Bluetooth is only for one touch remote

I ahve seen LG's 2D-to-3D conversion, and it is a magic; i loved it. This feature can take gaming to new level.
There were concerns that SONY's 2D-to-3D conversion was not as good as LG.
How abut buy LG Blue-Ray player ( Home theater BH7430 ) whcih converts 2d-to-3d and hook it up with Sony tv ? ( i know it cant convert live TV programs but this is a workaround after all)

Now , buying a substandard bluray player for 2d to 3d coversion is not a good idea.
The lg bdp will batter the 2d picture. The batterred 2d picture is further batterred to get the 3d.
Finally you end up with a "haleem".

Purchased Sony 42W 800 today.
1. Some blurs during fast motion in LG but very fluid motion in sony ( I think better motion quality is must for 3ds).
2. 2D to 3D looks fine in sony if you watch it with little more distance.

i would suggest buying W800, i bought one a week ago and so far loving it
but be careful to check usage hours, theres a demand for this model in bangalore, and they sold me a demo tv trying to dupe me, luckily i checked the usage hours and took thier happiness for a ride and got a brand new replacement today with 00000 00005 00000 numbers

well i decided to go for W800 instead of W900 cos it was 1) cheaper by 10kish 2) i dont think triluminous will be adapted by production houses / rippers,and i didnt want to buy this tv just to look at demo content, look at 3d for this matter there are barely handful of 3d movies since its launch 3)could use the saved 10k to buy a very good bluray player

How much the deal ?
My TV got setup yesterday evening. The W800is simply awesome. I didnt do any changes to settings. Watching it out of the box without any problem. Just cant stop watching.
Plugged in my 2TB External HDD whch have about 20 1080p movies, playing them without any problem. Even 720 and regular standard movies are amazing to watch on it. Superb smoothness, crispnesss and colors. Perfect for me.
3D is same as in LG.
Except 2D to 3D is really bad.
Anyways no regrets for me as I'm gonna get all the 3D movies in 1080p.

For me I dont need advance features or apps, I was looking for a TV not a PC

I am planning on buying 42W800A
Couple Qs for you -
1. I see ebay post of W803A. Seller claims it is the same as 800A, but imported from malaysia. Any thoughts if its true? Is it okay to buy it considering the 15k price difference.
2. How smart are the smart features? Can you connect a wifi / bluetooth enabled keyboard to use with the tv? Read one of the comments - No wireless keyboard supported. Is it true?
If not, how easy is it to type into the browser / login to skype using the provided remote? if you donot intend on connecting the mac.
3. TV can connect to your wifi n/w with out any additional devices. I read the answer is Yes. But, can you confirm again please.
4. Guessing 3D content is sparingly used( atleast true of me), how good is an option of buying W650A & the wifi dongle which costs about 3k. Am I loosing out on anything? I see the specs talking of higher number of HDMI, USB Ports on 800A. But, essentially see all the ports are present in 650A too.
