hi folks i am trying to connect my pc(HP 5208uk) to my avr(onkyo 609). I had this connected no problem VGA to VGA. The problem is I have just installed a new video card in my PC (Gainward 1gb pci express) Now when I try to connect it to my onkyo again VGA to VGA I recieve no signal. I am awaiting a 5m HDMI to HDMI cable arriving which I will be using soon but hope it will connect as right now I am getting nothing VGA to VGA. is there something I am doing wrong or havengt done? just find it very weird as it was connecting fine using my old video card. any help would be appreciated

Is that graphiccard VGA not working? If yes, then you have to select PCI graphic as primary boot in MB bios.
Secondly if you have also connected monitor to GC,then you need to config video out in control panal of graphic drivers.

When you install a video card. the video output on the motherboard is disabled. You will be able to get video output only from the card. If you card has a VGA output, connect the cable to that.

Cheers

yes thats right graphics vga to my vga on my onko 609 is giving no signal. DVI to PC monitor is working fine. How do I set pci graphics as primary boot in MB bios and I cant seem to find anything about drivers in the graphic card control panel to config video out?? whats anoying is that it was working fine on my old card?

I am using the VGA on the card! not from the VGA connector of the onboard graphics but not getting a thing.

Is this card ATI or nvidia? You can open control panal & check for the video out setting.Even try setting multiple display(clone).

Its nvidia and ive tried mutiple display, extended display, single display but nothing. Ive tried draging single and extened displays but still nothing. I still cant see any video out settings in the nvidia control panel

Now the resolution has to be adjusted.First try clone with low resolution & then config as video extension.Lastly dont connect monitor & only Onkyo,it should work.

Hi folks Ive connected my PC to my avr using HDMI to HDMI and finally getting a picture. The problem Im faced with now is I have no sound? I have connected via pc optical to avr optical and set the settings on the avr. still no sound. Is there something I should be setting on the pc or is there anything else I need to do to get sound? Thanks
