DIY: Pass F5 turbo v2 initiated

Om, Sachin, the boards are looking awesome. Great job.
It may give more flexibility to allow different pitch/pin spacing for
capacitors, esp large caps. For next GB :)
Yes Prasad, you are correct. Even I was looking for those 5 pin type footprint with variable lead space. But lack of library and unknown dimensions make this limitation upto current PS filter which could accommodate 10mm lead space and 36mm max diameter of filter caps. I measured all 10000 and 12000uF caps of 63V has this generic dimension.
But still there is scope for more generic filter board. Agreed.

Fairchild MOSFET and MUR3020
I got reply from DIY audio member regarding this. He is kind enough and ready to provide help cum components for us. Currently he has 4P/4N matched quads and ready to send us with below cost .

Fairchild MOSFET 4P/4N matched set: US$ 32.00 ea
Shipping for 16 sets: US$ 20.00
PayPal fees:3%
MUR3020: US$ 1.5 ea
Also he is ready to provide mur diodes but it seems he is not aware about our rectifier board which needs extra 16 diodes. I am in conversation and apprised him of our requirement.

If this comes true then it will save us money and time. Additionally we will get original components for sure.
For shipping we may need some help if decide to divide this whole quantity into 3-4 parts. Volunteer are needed.

Please voice your thoughts and willingness.

Ship them fast man (kid in front of a candystore :-))
Kroyin, please wait, I am looking for wire crimp terminal/header of attaching wires to PCB. You can see PS wires and output wire are pairs of pads. There I am expecting terminals like this

And wire terminators like this lower two in the pic below

Plus I will try to add 1 meter heat shrink tube too. This will be possible if I buy one packet of 1000 terminals at one time.

Mishraji,

I think it would make sense if you and Sachin procure all the components on behalf of all participants by default. If someone wants to do his own procurement, let him opt out on the thread and then we can procure for all.

Otherwise we are all kept guessing as to whether we need to opt in at every stage or whether stuff would be procured for us as well. If you guys need funds in advance, it could be stated in the thread and those willing for central procurement would pay up front.

My two cents.

Regards

Rajesh

That is same intention from me,if somebody has objection please raise it now. I am in negotiation with other end, don't want investment into dead stock.

For some reason, these are called battery clips locally. Easily avbl. MX has very
nice gold plated female ones. Male tab terminals (faston connector) is also
easy to find.

Om,

I have quite a few of them already (procured for MYREF).

By the way as stated before pls do not order componets for me.

The MX ones are costly, around 15~20/- per piece. While the local ones cost around 60~100/- per 100 piece packet

Om... one question...

I understand the rectifier boards with 24-0/24-0.

With 18-0-18 (my vanilla F5) center tapped can i not duplex the 0 and run them to the rectifier board rather than connecting them to the filter board as you have suggested before

It won't do any benefit, rather add diode resistance into ground and transformer. But for 2 channels from 1 transformer this will add hum by difference of grounds.

Okay guys, so it's approx Rs 4500 for matched Fairchild MOSFET 4P,4N and 24 X MUR3020, without customs duties. Earlier only 24 diodes where costing approx 4200 Rs.

Whoever paid to Sachin, your amount will be adjusted accordingly.

I am asking for matched JFets too. Then I will need money because this will go large investment.

So finally me and Sachin will buy all components. Now power caps are remaining.

Edit: He directs us to Spencer's for matched JFets. And I need money, please PM me for a/c details or give it to Sachin who can update here.

Agreed,

As of now, except heatsinks, transformers, Caps (???) everything else is group buy.

Do we have the RCA terminals, Power sockets, Switch, Leds in the list.

Thanks

It's everything in electronics components except those big power caps. No accessory outside boards is included except NTC for toroidal and 2 bridge blocks for ground lifting.

Sorry, not against anybody. I am really confused as I could see a compiled parts list with 8500/- from sachin y'day and another list from mishra today. Could you guys please make a consolidated list and publish the payment requirement? Also, please make a list of parts which we are planning to procure under GB. This suggestion is just to avoid the confusion among noobs in electronics like me.

Hi Sajith,
I have already posted this here http://www.hifivision.com/diy/28245-diy-pass-f5-turbo-v2-initiated-16.html this price did not include 24 Mosfets and 16 10000uf power supply caps.
Omishra got a reply from Buzforb for Mosfet and Diodes, his price is better for this.We are trying to find out a cheaper source of parts without compromising the quality.

Regards,
Sachin

Does it mean as of now :-

Total Cost of all the Components= [8500-4200+4500]=8800/- (excluding 16X10000 mfd)

I think it will be better if all of us transfer the amount (8800/-) in Sachin Account, and then Sachin will transfer a consolidated amount to your account (Omishra).

Please confirm, so that we may Initiate NEFT tomorrow.:)
