Does mkvtoolnix partitioned mkv files play on Sony BDP S370?

welcome to the club.... i too have the same issue. actually as someone wrote it here, its issue with the parent mkv file. after splitting a 12 gb mkv file, i couldnt get it to play on s370 bdp, while the same were played perfectly on my laptop.
i had a small mkv file of about 300 mb, which i split into 3 100 mb mkv files. i was able to play all of them on my sony s370 player without any issues.

Yes, as deba pointed out, they play with 16:9 format.
Looks like i have got to get a mkv converter to dvd9 dvd tool to rip this 12 gb movie.

Hi Chandanbs, I had similar problems playing split mkv's on my LG BD370 but managed to get around it by downgrading my version of mkvmerge from 4.2.0 to 2.9.9

If you try opening your split files with tsMuxer and you get the error message: "Matroska parse error: invalid H264 NAL unit size. NAL unit truncated" then version 2.9.9 should help.

How to keep the original aspect ratio ? All movies are converted to 16:9.......

I've split 3 mkv files now and they all maintained their aspect ratio. So, I assume your saying the change to 16:9 only happens when you use avchd conversion?

I think this issue is closed now.
I have used mkvtoolnix version 3.0.0.
a) Select an item in the mkv container
b) Go to Input\Extra Options\Cues
c) Select the option "None" to disable compression.
d) Do a,b,c for all items in the container except chapters.

Now, check "Enable Splitting" and select a suitable file size.. i gave 3500M to fit into a fat32 enabled drive.
My 12 gb Avatar mkv file was split into 4 files. I was able to play all files with original size (and not 16:9 to my surprise).. I'm thankful to hifivision and logicchaos (especially Neil) for their wonderful support....

You can convert mkv to mkv but adjust the bitrate lower than original, after that, the size will be smaller, aunsoft video converter for mac have such a bitrate calculator to calculate video size.
