It is full praises from rajni fans all over the net.
But fans' perspective is not the one to go with??

This thread will give some good perspective from the movie buffs and non fans and non tamil people. Ie "real review".

As it stands, I did not get tickets till next week in hyderabad. :(
Will update once I manage to watch.

As much as I hate piracy, I saw the "irumbile" song in youtube in horrible quality and am bowled. :clapping:

Some of my colleagues have gone to the morning show. Yes, they have taken
off today to watch the movie. Hope it is good.

Even I'm catching up with it today evening. Will post my thoughts here.. Oh yeah, I will call a spade a spade.

Any fist reviews?
I saw Sivaji 2 times ,and without understanding any word of Tamil enjoyed throughfully.

As per my scriptwriter friend Yogesh ( Winner of Filmfare for Mumbai Meri Jaan)..It is Indian movie made in a language of cinema ,so spoken language does not come in between understanding!

got reviews frm my frnds frm U.S.theyve given a full 5star ratin to the super star flick!.....awesome graphics in the last 90min....tickets sells around 100-135$!!!!! a regular hollywood flick costs nothin more than 20$ i believe!.....perfect SHANKAR movie.......from a fan's perspective a bit disappointd as there's no rajini introduction song!!!!!! and comedy seems to be out of phase n silly(coutesy-karunas n santhanam!).....bein a theater owner i am enjoyin the scene!!!!!!!!!!!!

Blasto, I will be catching the movie today evening!

Even I'm catching up with it today evening.

Same pinch guys. I am watching it tonight here in Singapore. I am told it is being released in more than 10 theaters here.

Buddy, check this thread on team-bhp where Sam, a member has penned down a funny version with pics of how he watched Sivaji purely on sub-titles. It is outright hilarious. Just to give a bit of background to those who are not on team-bhp, Sam is a senior member who is known for his great sense of humour, his travel blogs and his knowledge of ICE (In Car Entertainment) amongst other things.

Section 144 is still imposed in M'Lore and we were all breathing a sigh of relief that nothing untoward happened yesterday, only to be jolted by loud mob cries and sounds of something being smashed into the ground this morning at around 8 AM. I run outside the house to see what the commotion was all about, literally scared out of my wits and guess what ? It turned out to be the huge crowd that came to book tickets for the First Day First Show of this movie playing at a theatre next to my house !!! It's been a long time since I have witnessed such adoration and excitement from movie fans. Was quite sad when the police turned up and started a mild lathi-charge.

Regards,

Sunil

Am I right in thinking this is a copy of I Robot?

Cheers

The plot was freezed years before I-robot was released. But cannot be sure if there are some ideas absorbed from the hollywood flick later on. Only those who have seen both movies can tell if there are any reflections. I will, tomorrow! :yahoo:

any shows in navi mumbai?

Yesterday I was chatting with a local chaiwalla, and asked him if he expects any problems. 'Not here Sir, only in Mount Road', he said. 'Why Mount Road", I asked. "That is where the theaters are", he replied. Not understanding what he was saying, I asked him if he expected any trouble about Ayodhya. "What is that", he asked. "I though you were speaking about Endhiran", he said.

Cheers

Watched trailer couple of weeks back at PVR and had a good laugh. You can watch it like Dabangg, keep brain at home and watch!!. I found music by ARR horrible in this movie.

I beg to disagree. :indifferent14: Shankar is not a director who makes films for brainless. I wonder if you have seen any of his movies? He keeps up with the logic throughout his storyline. He has made some of the best movies I have seen. Yes there may be some pinches of masala (read improbabilities) but if that is not included, peole cannot really enjoy movies of big heroes like Rajnikanth. If you are expecting a logic supported by physics, then Hollywood movies are probably worse! I hope no examples are required :D

I was not also impressed with the songs when i heard them first. But the thing with ARR is he grows on you gradually. After hearing the CD for some days now i have started to like couple of songs like Kadhal anukkal and Kilimanjaro. To label the songs as horrible is unfair.I don't think he has given horrible music in any of his films.

My son went for the FDFS. His verdict is... the graphics is great tho the story line is not.He says its definitely worth a one time watch.

cheers,
sri

Yeah, I watched most of the Shankar movies and few are my favourites. But Shankar+Rajani make the difference. I dont watch those sci-fi hollywood movies either. But sure this Rajani fans will make this movie super duper hit by watching it multiple times:).

I found music is too loud to my taste, so never bothered to listening it again.
I have pretty decent collection of ARR songs. None of his recent works are my favourites. Roja, Kandukonden are few of my fav work by ARR.

His recent works like slumdog, commonwealth song and Robo sre below average according to me. Many of his past works are much better than these.
