Fans of Television Series

Hi All,

Watched another British mini-series - North & South : North & South (TV Mini-Series 2004) - IMDb

Romantic drama, a mills and boons type.. Though not my taste decided to try seeing the unusual high rating in IMDB and also it was just 4 episodes. Another reason was the lead actor, Richard Armitage, a super handsome guy :). Well I liked it as it was a deviation from the usual comedy/fights/espionage and only close to 4 hours.

Another high-action British series is Strike Back : Strike Back (TV Series 2010 ) - IMDb .Strike Back is basically 24 on steroids.

From the makers of Banshee, it follow the same pattern like nonsensical of a story, high voltage gun fights, main characters getting unexpectedly chopped off, high production values AND gratuitous amount of nudity (from season 2 onwards). If not taken seriously this series will entertain big time just like Banshee.

Started off TWO and a HALF men and i really like it. Charlie sheen`s timing is impeccable.

I am a very big Burton fan. Cannot forget the Burton - Nola fight. We eagerly wait for his glasses to be taken off because every time they go off its pure action guaranteed. :) The next in the list is Hoon Lee, after that Proctor and finally Lucas Hood.

New show in town and a pretty good one too

Bloodline : Bloodline (TV Series 2015 ) - IMDb

Watched first 2 episodes. Its a family drama with gradual build of thrills and uneasiness. The best part is all 13 episodes of season 1 were released at the same time so dont have to wait a week for each episode.

The same happened for BOSCH too. All the episodes were released at one go.. A new trend maybe ...

Netflix always releases all serials this way... all episodes available at the same time. Great for binge watching.

I've queued Bloodline and will watch it... but was eagerly waiting for Daredevil, which I'll be starting today.

Daredevil (TV Series 2015 ) - IMDb - Another feather in the cap for Netflix, Daredevil has pretty much of everything (except nudity) and in good measure too. Pretty faces, slick action, good plot, etc.

Watch it, its that good. Pretty much every reviewer has been raving about it and deservedly so.

Daredevil is just about the best superhero serial to date. Everything is perfect about it, and excellent performances all around from Charlie Cox, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, and Vincent D'Onofrio who is especially terrific as Kingpin.

Highly recommended for sure. PQ is excellent and while I personally like DTS, I cannot complain with the DD track here, it rocks too.

I've to wait for 4 weeks to watch a new GOT episode. To watch or Not to watch .... that was the question for me. Ofcourse guilty pleasure won....

BTW any new recommendations guys for new thriller / detective series ?

Wayward Pines is turning out to be pretty interesting... Saw two episodes and waiting for the rest now.. Its dark and lots of suspense.. Nice thriller by M. Shyamalan

Very surprised that the thread has not had an update even after the finale of a by now moronic, irresponsible and down to the gut disgusting show.

I am not part of the moral police, never wished to be and I will keep this short.

The show has ran its course, at least for me. The Red Wedding gave me a jolt, that jolt was purely in the sphere of likability for characters and I was sad....sad, that is a human quality. However season 5 now has established this show does not live up to any civilized human standards anymore.
Characters die, and they die world over in movies, plays, shows, books and in real life. No fuss with that, but burning a child on a pier? Women being raped in HD in greatest possible detail and sadism being trumpeted as the very 'in thing' of the moment?
Oh HELL NO. I am done with it.

FYI I am not shocked, I am just reviled.

Season 3 for "Orange is the new black" is up on Netflix, started watching it yesterday .....
I am also watching season 5 of "The Walking Dead", completed 8 episodes. "Daredevil" is on my next list, heard a lot about this show from everyone.
Another TV series "Sense8" also is being praised a lot and is also available on Netflix, so that is on my list as well.

Disappointing season... burning the child alive, walk of shame and the number of killings in the last episode :(

just would like to thank you all for the various recommendations.

Bosch was good but was a bit disappointed with the finale though it has good potential going forward. The best one i enjoyed in recent times is "BLOODLINE", 10/10 for this one, just amazing screenplay & all around acting.

Also lookout for Tyrant, a take into Middle East politics & timeline of a failing dictator family.

Marco Polo is also a nice watch in lines of GOT.

Shibashis, this season was very lukewarm for me too.

It had lost it's sheen for me right from the beginning of this season, somehow. I've read the books and this could be part of why: A lot of plot lines in this season have no connection whatsoever to GRRM's original story. I can understand having to shave substantial parts of the story and characters off for TV, but taking a wholly new path altogether does not work for me.

Some of what happens in the finale is in the books (esp. the BIG shock). Some of it happens, but in different ways and contexts. And the rest of it aren't part of the books (at least as far as what has been written yet). I'm not really looking forward to the next season. I am looking forward to the next book, though. :)

GoT s5 was gross and yes the finale was indeed too heavy on killing people.. Now that the stark bloodline is mostly off and daeny has started looking stupid.. I too agree the show has run its course...but Wayward pines has turned out to be something and after last week's episode I guess I'm hooked

I am also finding out that the series has gone ahead of the story. It seems to me when the writers of the series had a definite guide line in the shape of the events of the books themselves they did well to adapt it for TV, but now it is uncharted waters for them mostly and the result is a disaster.

I am also looking for the book and have decided will read it, forget season 6, books are more enjoyable anyway.

True Detective season 2,not as crazy s season 1,but similar level as far as the first one went.. Nice watch

Orange is the new black - Season 3 ............ Not as good as SE02 and no way near as good as SE01. but still was watchable ..... About to end The Walking Dead season 5 as well. On EP13 currently.

To add to the list of History shows,World wars was really nice miniseries and recently concluded Texas Rising was also interesting
