Fans of Television Series

Yeah thats what I meant when Fox network with its infinite wisdom killed firefly which could have been one of the most successful Sci-Fi franchise. Yep after couple of years Joss Whedon went on to make the movie Serenity....Another series which promised a lot and killed by Fox prematurely was The Sarah Connor Chronicles, I heard its good !!!

But my all time favorite is LOST...what a TV series...I have the complete set in Bluray and its feast for eyes...

Try Firefly its the series which spun off the movie Serenity...a very good if you're a Sci-fi fan....

Well...I had never watched any English TV series other than 'Friends' which I watched in College.
After reading lot of online reviews, I bought 'Band Of Brothers' BluRay from Amazon UK and so far, I have watched its 7 episodes in last 4 days. What a series !!
Can't wait to finish it.

Heard a lot about LOST. From where you bought the LOST Blurays? Tried buying it from Amazon UK few days ago, but it wasn't directly available, instead few third party sellers were selling this around 80 GBP.
Any suggestion ?

Once you start watching it, it's difficult to get up and turn the TV off isn't it? :p Probably the best TV series made, if you ask me...

The Lost complete collection isn't available directly from amazon, but individual season packs are in stock and works out almost the same, may be a little more.

I've seen Sarah Connor Chronicles. Nice. Has the pretty Summer Glau in it as well.

My all time favorites would be Lost, Dexter (must watch for a unique take on serial killers), Firefly, Star Trex, The X Files, The Shield (brilliant series), Supernatural, The Big Bang Theory (No. 1 comedy series IMHO), The Wonder Years (best childhood/growing up/coming of age series), Buffy the Vampire Slayer (for Sarah Michelle Gellar) and the classic Diff'rent Strokes.

Most recently The Walking Dead. Its brilliant and the SFX of the zombies will scare you.

Check out the new Sherlock series from BBC. Its amazing. I would have never thought Sherlock would be so good in its modern avatar. Each episode is 1.5 hrs long and each season has been only three episodes. The third season is due on 2013.

Band of brothers is excellent. In blu-ray, the sound effects are amazing. Hated ross and now even more :)

The Mentalist is a good series if you like the mystery/logical deduction type genre.

Yeah looks like Amazon.uk is not having stock of Lost complete collection...I got it from amazon.uk for 43 pounds if I'm not wrong. Keep watching amazon they will add it soon. But one problem with the amazon.uk Lost complete collection is I think season 4 is locked to Region B. Also I had a very weird issue with the first 3 seasons. I was playing in my Region A PS3 and for some reason even though the blu rays are region free the menu was in Japanese :-) I think when they made the blu rays they kind of assumed if some is buying from Europe and playing in Region A player then it has to be Japanese customers...Anyways guys in Bluray.com was kind enough to give me the English menu screen shots...then I decided to get a region B player and got all the menu's in English :-)

Yeah Sherlock is awesome. Band of Brothers is superb, both as series and as reference quality material....Yeah Supernatural is another series which grew on me, when i started it I didn't like it much, but man the more you watch it gets better...

I am waiting for Big Bang theory's blu ray prices to drop...will definitely adding it to my collection...

Thanks manny, you were really lucky enough to get it in 43 pounds.
I have a region free player (which was originally Region B), so I won't having any issues with region encoding on Blurays bought from Amazon UK.
It seems 'LOST Bluray' has become a rare item if we buy the entire collection. There is a seller on Amazon UK who has put up a price of around 250 pounds...that too a used one !!
Anyways, I'll wait for the Amazon Uk to come up with the collection again. Hope my patience doesn't betray me !!
Or else I'll prefer to buy individual season set as suggested by 'bluraymaniac'.

Any comments on 'The Pacific'..how good is this ?

Yeah keep watching Amazon.uk, I am very sure they will stock it up again.Or buying them separate is a better choice. If its too expensive don't buy the complete collection, the slip cover is not good and all it has is individual series in separate boxes. Actually when it was delivered to me the slip cover was torn, it was that flimsy. But Amazon being Amazon , replaced it and refunded by shipping charges back to them. That's why I always prefer buying from Amazon, when it comes to customer service, they are the best in the planet...

Or if u don't spending too much money, try this from amazon.com , comes with lot of collectibles...:-)

Amazon.com: Lost: The Complete Collection [Blu-ray]: Jorge Garcia, Naveen Andrews, Matthew Fox, Josh Holloway, Daniel Dae Kim, Yunjin Kim, Evangeline Lilly, Terry O'Quinn, Emilie de Ravin, Michael Emerson, Dominic Monaghan, Henry Ian Cusick, Adam

I have Pacific and IMO its not band of brothers but a excellent series on its own. AQ and PQ is excellent...reference quality....

I am really loving the gun-fire and all the war scenes in Band of Brothers (Episode 4 is the most amazing out of 8 episodes I have watched so far.)
Good to know that 'The Pacific' is also nice in this aspect. I really won't mind buying it just for its War scenes.

Never been a fan of Television series until now but all changed after watching these 2

1.Person of Interest- The only crime thriller that i have loved watching so far with a good star cast(Jim Caviezel,Michael Emerson and Taraji P Henson ). Beautifully woven episodes with great twists and turns.

2.The Walking Dead-Based on a comic series by Robert Kirkman
This is so easily better than anything that i have seen zombie. Really gripping yet thoughtful. No surprise as it comes from Frank Darabont of "The Green Mile " and "The Shawshank Redemption" fame
The series is known to have been a big hit with critics winning a Golden Globe nomination and a record breaking viewership for its suspense filled second season final episode

The 3rd season is expected to be premiered on the 14th of October in the US with the introduction of 2 important characters ,one of them masked in the last episode of season 2.

Scandal - On Zee Cafe Saturday nights at 11 pm. Nice series based on "fixers" who will do anything to get their clients off. Similar to George Clooney's Michael Clayton there is no actual court room drama here... all the fixing takes place even before the court or usually even before the cops arrive.

Just completed Season one of Jericho and boy what an experience ..... I love survival themes under adverse circumstances ....... loved it ..... unique concept and perfect execution ...
