I'm one of those people who enjoy the frame interpolation effect on video.

I realized this after watching videos on my sony HX800 native 270hz panel screen, for many months then suddenly tried watching something on my PC..and it just wasn't the same. I couldn't enjoy it.

So I thought, this is just a matter of frames. Meaning what the panel on my tv does on hardware should also be possible by software. I searched for a couple of hours and voila!

I found the SVP Project : Smooth Video Project at SmoothVideo Project (SVP) - motion estimated frame interpolation with any video player and frame doubling in real-time

It lets you adjust everything according to your pc's specs.
However I suggest using it only on your HTPC only if it has a dedicated graphics.
Otherwise it becomes too much for the cpu.

Now I enjoy my videos on my monitor just as much as I do on my Sony HX800 =)
