Great Tasting Vinyl

^ good track there by wretchers & jabberers manav.

Ya man! the entire soundtrack of wretchers & jabberers is brilliant! Just heard it last night in its entirety and was spellbound! Heard the LP first and then the accompanying cd.... sounds good on both formats.

the LP & CD have been mastered at Mcintosh using Mcintosh gear.... the sound is awesome... this clearly is a labour of love by EVERYONE concerened right from the writers, the artists, the producers - everyone!

And it seems that every performer was so touched by the theme and effort of the Documentary that they all did their work gratis!

I'd say buy this disc. You'll cherish it for years to come. And since this is a limited edition pressing its value is bound to increase manifold in the years to come.

will try to... as 'Yaz' and few 'police' records are on my way and already have 9 records on the list for future purchase. So when budget permits ... :)

Maybe you have posted earlier, but where do you buy your records from ? I think being weight specific even group buy is not economical, or is it ?

Hiten, I buy most of my stuff from elusivedisc.com.

They give me a 10% discount if I buy stuff worth $400 and above. it is more economical to club your purchases together as the shipping becomes more economical plus the 10% discount comes in handy to offset some of the shipping.

I really like the elusivedisc service as most shipments reach me within 10 days of making the payment. and this is impressive because I choose the basic shipping option (and NOT the more expensive express shipping).

Checked elusivedisc. wow! huey lewis and the news "sports" album is $150. Can not afford it. But I must say will be great as it is on mofi lable.
Regards

dude, you might not get a mofi here in India, but for about 250 bucks you get the said album sooner or later.... I got lucky and bought 2 huey lewis albums (sealed and in mint condition) from chor bazaar for about Rs 300 each! they charged me a little extra cos they were still sealed!

just look around and you'll get 'em!

Man, I so miss mumbai.... every alternate weekend I'd go scour around for Lp's and get back home a treasure trove of atleast 20 titles - sometimes even 40-50 LPs!

here in delhi, I've not even started the process of identifying the people and areas!

yes. ebay I think is best for vinyls. Also me thinks I should spare some monies for my favorite absolute classics (jazz/rock etc. may be 4 to 5 in number) for high fidelity pressings. Not sure lets see .....

Hi Hitensitapara

You must do that. Almost all of my English vinyls i have purchased on the ebay.

Any good seller that you may know having good collection to choose from as combined shipping will be economical. kindly PM me. Already have bought yaz and police. I am looking for Pink floyd (Dark side of the moon) UB40 (Present arms, signing off), Huey lewis (sports), John Fogerty (hits or 'best of' maybe), U2 Joshua tree, Bill Evans, and few more may be Jimmy Hendrix....

There goes my trimming of vinyl collection as posted in your thread :p

I do not buy from any specific sellers. Joshua Tree US first press with Masterdisk in deadwax is good. DSOTM, UK A1 B3 matrix is supposedly the best. But it is prohibitively expensive. Go for the 30th anniversary press. It is very well rated. For WYWH, German second press with 064 in the catalogue is very good and priced reasonably. I only buy from sellers who have 99.7% upwards positive feedback. For Eagles, go for Sterling LH in the deadwax. For Led Zepp 4, go for Porky/Pecko in the dead wax. For Deep Purple, US green labels are good. UK and Japan first presses are also very good.

There is nothing like Steely Dan after a real tough week.... soaking it in!
