Great Tasting Vinyl

@Ajay: that's a great album too! Do you know that it is very very hard to find on Vinyl?

I saw it on ebay once and that too it was going for $100 +++...

I have not seen it around ever since that copy went outta my hands.

BTW, just finished listening to JT.

Man, James Taylor does have a fab voice. And every JT album seems to have been beautifully mastered too!

The SQ is exceptional!

I really admire Two Against Nature because it is what it's title suggests. Two great musicians fighting against nature. Against age. Against an audience which had moved on to the new kids on the block. Many ageing rockers tried to make a comeback in the eighties and nineties. None succeeded as gloriously as Steely Dan did in the year 2000 with Two Against Nature. Standout tracks. Janie Runaway, Cousin Dupree and West Of Hollywood.

If I could find a l-o-n-g playing record with roughly 200 minutes of rock picks. If wishes could be horses :)

That is quite a master list bro!

All heavy hitters!

In fact the only reason I'd consider buying a dac is to make such playlists on the FLAC or HD format for lazy sunday afternoons, while I play scrabble with the wifey!

'Yaz' and few 'police' records are on my way
yaz and police vinyls are with me. Bought Bill Halley for dad. Strangely the seller dude had sent them in two packets. One packet has not arrived .
Dakiyababu (postman :D) says such things and delays happen, so waiting for other police and depeche mode vinyls. :licklips:

Which Police albums do you have? Police is one of the very few post 80's bands I have heard or liked. The two albums I really liked were Regatta De Blanc and Zenyatta Mondatta. Outlandos d' Amour and Ghost In The Machine were also nice.I felt that Synchronicity was a bit of a sell out. I loved Stuart Copeland's drumming. I never bought a single album of Sting solo. The few that I heard at someone's place sounded absolutely bland and 'harmless'. The Roxxane edge was missing.

Depche Mode and Tangerine Dream also made some nice music. I have never had any of their albums, but I used to listen to them at a friends place.

Ajay,
albums are, Every Breath You Take (its kind of best of The police), Reggatta De Blanc, Already have synchronicity. Depeche Mode is also the singles collection.
I am not as experienced listener as you are, but I like depeche mode's People are people, Behind the wheel, I feel you. So pretty much 'popular' stuff.

The by lanes and side alleys of rock music were far more exciting and innovative than the initially interesting, but ultimately boring Pink Floyd. Meddle is a superb album, but personally I have never been a fan of Dark Side Of The Moon or The Wall. The post 80's albums like Division Bell and Amused To Death fall into the 'unlistenable' category for me. Beyond a point Rogers Waters and co. are monotonous and repetitive. There are so many better albums out there than the much touted DSOM,Hotel California or Brothers In Arms.

One such album was In The Court Of The Crimson King.

"Said the straight man to the late man/Where have you been/I've been here/and I've been there/And I've been in between/I talk to the wind/My words are all carried away/I talk to the wind/The wind does not hear/The wind cannot hear..."

Marianne Faithfull. Seriously good female rock singer. I used to listen to Joni Mitchell,Joan Baez and Joan Armatrading, but always found Marianne's sad, smoky, sexy voice far better. I was only aware of her fabulous 70's music, but it seems she has been active all along.

Check out her live and studio versions of Working Class Hero on You Tube. Electrifying!

Over the next six months, the entire catalogue is being released Stevie!

i am sitting on the fence - waiting for some reviews.... don't wanna let go of my catalogue that has mostly clean first presses.... or mebbe i'll keep these and go for the new ones as well (if the reviews are favourable!)

It was all Eric Clapton this morning - EC was here, Money & Cigarettes Backless...

This evening.... hmmm lemme see... still about 4 hours before I get back home...

Currently I'm in the mood for Little Feat, but have no albums on vinyl...

So I guess i'll just go with JJ Cale.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
