Have you ever been so much bored while watching a movie in a cinema/theater ?

hum aapke hain kaun - that movie just killed me. I am a firm believer in what doesnt kill you, only makes you stronger, that movie was a killer. the stupid songs wont let me sleep and my drunk friends wont let me leave.:) Since then, its my benchmark for bad movies...

Another real bad one was signs... I was thinking about leaving all the time, but kept thinking something will happen now... and in the end when the movie got over, still nothing had happened... arghhh.... I was pulling my hair for not leaving..

Oh.. and I disagree with a poster above.. a bad hindi movie can possibly not be as bad as a bad english movie.... bad english ones can be unbelievably bad.

Goodness me, doors! Hum Aapke Hain Kaun and Signs? I thought they were each nice movies in their own genre and way.

Apart from that - about getting too bored with movies, I guess a lot has to do with our expectations as well. For example, I expected a huge amount out of the movie - Antichrist. Result - extreme disappointment and even revulsion. Now I am left wondering what my view would have been if I had just gone as if I were on a blind date....

Try sitting through one of Alejandro Jodorowsky's films in one single stretch (esp "Holy Mountain"). They can be only described as self indulgent, surrealistic, symbolic, bizarre .... you get the idea ;) And they have a 7+ rating on IMDB too.
If you thought Alejandro Jodorowsky's were painful, try to watch Andrei Tarkovsky movies. Mirror, Stalker and Solaris. They are nearly 8 on IMDB. My eyes were more on the "Time remaining" display than the movie. They took eternity to end.Andrei is not a director but a philosopher and that is written all over his movies. I do have respect for him but maybe when i'll have white hair and towards the end phase of my life, i'll really appreciate what he has made.

Andrei's only movie i could watch with interest was Ivan's Childhood which is a story about a 12 year old Russian boy who is a spy and collects/delivers vital information from Germans to the Russians. I actually rated it 9/10. Another Criterion classic in my vault :clapping:

I am sure that bad movies have not died although this thread may have. But we all have a ethical obligation on informing fellow members before they endure such movies.

Just came out of watching Tees Maar Khan and its still 15 mins to go. I am glad that even my two year old realized the futility of watching this movie and forced me to ditch it :)

I like comedies and I am generally lenient with mad cap ones even of the Golmaail 1/2/3 variety. However, this one is really, really bad and so bad that you feel insulted at the end of it.

You took your 2 year old for Sheila Ki Jawani??!!??

This one was playing on screen next to The Tourist. During the interval (best part about The Tourist) I heard the Sheila song on my way to bio-break. Cat-calls and whistles... :)

I went to a movie named sura on the release day , I can certify it as one of the worst movie ever made in tamil film industry...the hero himself had 5 songs praised on him....
Mokka movie sir adhu...

 Wow! that must have been fun... kids!

This weekend no movies, only 2 nights of music and surely Munni + Sheila will rock the nights.

I'll be watching a bluray tonight... which one?!

My Name Is Khan was a certified disaster as soon as I saw the promos. Had a chance to see it last week on TataSky. Why on earth Karan wants to make movies with Indian sensibilities set abroad? He can't handle it at all. They are forced, the supposedly-witty dialogues are lift-offs from English movies and sitcoms. Sad, very sad.

I thought LSD was quite an experiment and it was a success in my opinion. My friend still pukes on the mention of the movie name. He sat through just because I paid for the tickets. A section of the audience enjoyed it though.

Watching Crash on PIX...

yeah ***tees maar khan*** i had expectations....

akshay kumar repeated himself with stupid acting and no story...

pathetic..

Happened for the first time in my life while I was watching Tron Legacy. Could not walk off since I had gone with a couple of friends, but had a sound sleep for about 15 mins. in the end.

normally I avoid movies like MNIK, Tees MK etc- I can judge a little from promos. However, I got fooled with Toonpur Ka Superhero. Thinking it would at least be good for my little kid, but she has got better taste than that. She rejected the movie completely. We waited for some magic to happen, but ultimate left the theater in an hour or so. My daughter was playing outside the audi all the time and each time we got her back, she got bored in a min or so. Absolute disaster.

reading this thread, i was reminded of a quip by a famous critic..who after watching a certain film said that was the first time he felt jealous of his leg because it had 'slept' throughout the film....
