Rupam I have notr received my AVR, but expected delivery date is 27th Feb. However I checked online , it has reached Kolkata and waiting for customs clearance. will let you know when the entire set up once my room is ready.

Hi Uttam,

My room is currently under renovation, it will take approx 1 1/2 months more to complete the renovation and interior work to be over. my RTI A7s are still boxed and waiting for the Onkyo receiver to arrive from Amazon.de. will certainly put up pictures once the entire set up is ready.

and for br player get panasonic 220 from amazon us...it will be within 9.5k max including all...it can be mad eregion free for 2k extra...there is a separate thread on this particuler model...many menbers bought it
otherwise can check A zone maratnz player 20k at hifimart itself(mrp 40k...)..its a very good offer also

onkyo is fantastic for movies..you chose perfect..

i just checked 818 has pre outs...
later... not now....add a power amp in the chain....you will be surprised by the improvement...also avr will be cool unloaeeded..

You can consider Dune HD TV-101 for HD Media Player. At around 11 thousand. But It does not have 3D.

For 3D support you must buy Xtreamer PRODIGY.

Yes, you heard it right, Profx is offering EMI option through Bajaj Finance, but there is catch, if you opt for finance option they will offer 6% discount.

I am seriously considering Panasonic BDT220, but was little worried about its availability, if I buy it from US I guess I will need one stepdown converter, isn't it ?

Thanks Rupam for your suggetsion,

I am planning to install a NAS server and a home network, it will be used as cloud for my computers, media files and for music and video streaming.

For 3D I will buy one 3D Blu-ray player.:)

yes one transformer based voltage converter(not smps based)....is needed.
you can check in e bay for zone c sony 3d s490 at only 7.5k....after coupon etc...with sony india official warranty 1 yr
it is also very good player at this price point....mrp 13k....but sony famous problem is still there..it wont read 15 % of ur files....plus no flac read capability...

whwre as in pana 220 it woukld be say 10k....2k...1.5k...total..all in one..
13.5k.....will be neded

so why not a marantz zone A player....at 20k...and its 220v...20k is final..
i mean its my idea..may not match yours...

also u can do one thing..
get sony at 7.5k...and get another media player for 3.5k....11k...still less than pana 220 ..
but this is only suitablke if you dont have any plan ever to use other zone disks....
oterwise it will be a hassle...

now think acordingly...

I received the much awaited AVR, Onkyo-TX NR 818 from Amazon.de. Its my first ever AVR Today Itried it with a very minimal setup, Ihooked my laptop and the RTIA7 FS played some bollywood hindi songs and Kenny G. I was more than happy.

Hello Ash,

first of all the total cost much lesser than the price offered by the Stores in India, I saved around 21000 by ordering it from Amazon.de. If you bring it from Amazon.de it will have power rating of 220-240 V which is compatible with Indian power setup but the AVRs from USA will run on 110 V power line so you will need a step down converter. these are the main two reasons why I bought it from Germany.

Your RTIA7 will take some time for proper burn in. Then you will enjoy the full potential of these speakers. At least 80-100 hours.
