This would have been an excellent opportunity to hear Hari's babies but due to prior engagements I am unable to even contemplate this meet.

Hi all,
As Denom informed... The meet will start at sharp 10 am. I guess everybody is aware that our blessings of plenty will turn into problems of plenty if gear is not available on time when a particular demo-type starts.

It would be chaotic situation, in case at 10am, we have 50% of DAC, 20% of integrateds, 75% of Pre-power, and 15% of speakers. How do we proceed in such case?

Hence I request all to puhleeeees arrive with your gear by 10 am.

Reg Audition-notes...
Since song-selection will have impact on the kind of response you get from "audience", request you to finalize plan /strategy or actual songs that would be used during demo's... and declare the same to all attendees today.

Also it would help if you can also similarly declare the evaluation method for gears. I have seen some suggestions from your side, and Sridhar-V earlier. You may take it further from there and finalize today...

Have made a test tracks folder containing flacs of most genres except commercial hindi film music & indian/western classical music. Rest we can play based on demand from attendees. Don't worry, ruenigma is bringing his FLAC collection & so are the others, we have plenty to choose from.

Evaluation method is simple, 1) Does Music heard sound good/appeal to you, 2) If yes then that means synergy is good, 3) if not then try to identify what component is not doing it justice. As it is we will have 2 Sets of Speakers in A/B mode paired to 1 Amp, so if 1 set sounds good whilst the other not, then we know what to do next, change amp - if still no change then source & so on. I think rest we decide on the fly during the meet itself.
No amount of extra planning needed as of now.

Couple nice to haves:
1) Test Tracks:
a. Live music recordings - really interested in hearing these
b. Sufi/Quawalis: Nusrat Fateh Ali khan would be great!
2) Would be nice to keep fixed test tracks list (rather than on the fly) to set a common standard per genre. ("Farmaish" tracks can be add on)

Just my humble 2 cents. Rather wishful thinking

As usual I have made some Demo tracks of various musics.I burnt a CD of the same.If you like those in 1st session we have 3 copies in HDD+Pen drive,also a CD.

I will suggest those getting gears be ready by 9:45AM so that we do not waste precious initial hours for connectiions.
