Hifi Rack

Quoting from another source

The wooden rack hides a Titanium iso-skeleton, i.e. a rack within a rack. The horizontal Titanium tubes extend the full rack width underneath each tier, with a hole at each end through which the vertical titanium members pass with extremely tight tolerance. This inner Titanium skeleton is then coated with a custom adhesive to damp the entire structure after the compound has dried. The tubular Titanium stock is filled with various viscoelastic damping gels intended to tackle resonances at different frequencies. The gel filling beneath the bottom shelf thus is tuned specifically to address more bass frequencies since floorborne vibrations have a tendency to propagate up the iso-skeleton.
The isopods tie across the corners of the Craz rack. These isopods are filled with patented thermally reactive urethane hybrids which remain unaffected by temperature variations and are expected to work for 100 years. They are made to react to all manner of vibrational attacks by instantly auto-adapting their darometer (stiffness) index to generate the necessary counter motion which dissipates vibrational energy into heat. They self-restore to their original state for the next attack. These isopods are customized for the intended components to be supported and SRA will supply different ones when a customer upgrades equipment.

Hi Magma. I do not think on a public forum you should be blatantly copying designs. Even in the past you were trying to ape the ceraballs.

The SRA guys develop stuff for the NASA and US Airforce and Navy. They have the test equipment and a complete understanding of resonance and isolation. Trying to make something look like a Craz does not make it a Craz.

i did not ever say it was a craz nor did i say it will function like one

i said the rack should end up looking something like this
if that was not clear in the initial post - i cleared it later

if i wanted to proclaim that it functions like the craz i would have named the craz in the very first post
Please read carefully before you jump to conclusions

and what exactly do you think im copying?
the wooden framework ? - theres nothing patented on that design
The side metal support are also note SRA's creation
Theyve existed for generations

And respected sir
toolrooms im asscociated with develop things for ISRO
Infact the brohmos project by India (with the Russians ) used components designed and programmed on CNC by me
Do you think im someone who does anything without understanding it?)

As for the ceraballs
if you would have read that too , you would have seen i have my own design
the use of a ceramic ball is NOT patented by finite elements

Hi Ali
I'm interested in the Alpha series 4 pedestal rack with Black brushed solid Al bars suitable for 4 shelves. I can procure the MDF/wood shelves locally. Is it possible to have the bar lengths at 7" between shelves? Please pm with price and approx delivery date.
Thanks
Gijo

Most of us are indebted to magma for providing us with great quality accessories. You falsely discredit him. It would have helped if you'd have read Sound Foundations - About Us. These kind of public, baseless accusations in the past have already done a lot of damage to hfv in the past, and am pretty sure we don't want to revisit that.

Hi Alcy

Nobody is dicrediting anyone or falsely accusing. On a public forum one does not take an established product, do a lookalike and say thats not patented and that Ceraball does not use a ceramic ball. I can copy a Versace dress, make it in cotton and say Versace used silk for that dress. But i am still copying that design.

The point is when Magma has so many unique designs why the need to make a look alike.

Hi Magma

I really like some of your designs. I would rather you showcase those to the world. Imagine if you were sitting here and browsing through a german forum and saw someone make racks which in appearance look like a Finite Elemente or Craz. Would you consider him highly? The first look/appearance matters. I hope you understand what i am trying to get across

Quoted for emphasis. This gave me the impression of validating SRA's efforts, and undermining magma's, even though I think it was mentioned that only the look of the rack was being aimed at.

If indeed that was the implied meaning, then I misunderstood, sorry.

Hi Alcy

I have always liked to support Indian designers. Because if we guys do not support our own brethren, nobody will.

As it is no Indian audio manufacturer gets any worldwide support so its very important the projection is correct. One cannot be seen as making look alikes, even if one uses different materials.

But that is the very reason this rack is not going to be in my portfolio as one of my creations

i think i mentioned that in the first post when i said "i dont do wood"
this particular customer is a dear friend
He wanted this rack done this way
I didnt argue- i just did it

as the post says im just displaying somethin im doing for someone
Its not to be included in the SF portfolio

i dont see why the concern

anyway
thank you all for the concern

i request no more derailing of this thread
thank you

i just completed a dummy assemble of the delta rack for unvieling at tomm's meet
managed to take a few pics
here they are

this was meant to be my budget rack - my aim had always been to do something within a 10k limit.(4 shelf rack inclusive of shelving )

adjustable shelf height in steps of 1.5 inches
Solid Aluminum ridged supports
1.5 inch thk Composite shelving
CNC turned double contoured spikes
considering the above and the price i would say it definitely turned out fine

though since this is a proto some ironing needs to be done

hi sid
thanks for the pics you sent - they helped
P.S the ceraballs should get to you for eval from banglore soon

Was this rack there in yesterday's meet?? I mean I do not remember seeing it ,and in another thread you mentioned your trouble bringing it at meet.
..Or the stand was so "transpernt" that was invisible?:rolleyes::rolleyes:

:D Hemant,

We had no assembled & available racks, only speaker stands assembled & available to us ;)

Your words are also "Transperent" as you guys:p:p So the rack unveiling not happened ?:p

the rack had come - dont you remember the huge planks in corrugated wrapping
infact one part of the rack i left behind by mistake
fortunately denom was there so he took it home

its only that when we reached the venue we noticed that there was enough place to place the electronics.Plus the rack would have taken up place in the front and would not allow easy movement

hence khushroo and i decided not to assemble it

heres a theta refernce for a fellow member

the pic also shows a couple of my refernce composite platforms that are used as shelves
(P.S a thank you to dinyaar, mazher, joshua and jaibit who took out the time to visit and share their valuable i/p's and appreciation )
