Hisense india website live now, another disappointment.

Do you think it's safe to get H9G 65" from Ubuy?
It's only 1.06 lakh along with shipping and duty.
Is it fine if we gonna use it with step-down voltage converter?
uBuy only displays estimated tax, you will have to pay more taxes upon arrival and you might end paying almost or if not more than what we pay in India for the same product with current change in regulations. I had an experience with DHL once and the actual import tax is always much higher than estimated imported tax. Every product has a HSN Code and GoI keeps changing the applicable tax rate for each imported item. So you must be aware of this before buying from uBuy.

Personally i'd take a better quality 55 inch than a mediocre 65 inch. Now h8g is very good indeed, no question but pales in front of lg oleds and sony x950 series. And i think you can get b9 still at arnd 90k if you bargain enough.
It's not at all mediocre dude!
H8G is not even half good compared to H9G
Technically It's much superior TV than x950.
Both on paper and real world. All x950 has is better picture processing due to it's chipset.
I can't think of getting 55" after watching 65" on stores.
BTW B9 55" is expensive than H9G 65".
All I'm asking about step-down voltage converter not TV.

I just had a customer care chat with them.
They told that it's their headache to worry about duties after paying the duties to Ubuy.
They wouldn't ask you to pay more and they won't give you back if they happened to pay lesser taxes than estimated.

I have just seen their policy. This is a very good inclusion in their T&C. In this case you are safe from customs. Thanks for letting us know.

Great, I can imagine how good it looks to the naked eye. You need to get a nice future proof TV unit that can even support 65-75" TVs. I can tell you that 27" height from the floor and 71" width will be an apt TV unit dimension after a lot research and experiences after sitting in many couches and watching different size TVs. So you don't watch any static content on your C9 I presume and you haven't faced any image retention or burn in issues so far ? And since from how long are you using this TV and for how many hours a day do you use it ? And what are normal ambient temps in your TV room (like cold/hot/warm)? Kindly update us in the future if you face any issues with your LG OLED. But I heard that C9 is highly resistive to burn-in issues and the most reliable OLED from LG and better than CX in some cases. Thanks again for sharing the pics.

I don't need the TV unit to hold the TV as it will always be wall mounted. Just need the unit to hide the wires, power strip, UPS and keep some decorative stuff.

Yes, I don't watch static content at all (except may be IPL). So no issues or burn in so far.

I got it around 12 days ago. Using it for around 3-5 hours per day. Ambient Temps are around 26-30 degrees.

Will keep you guys posted

What about the warranty?
You cannot expect any warranty buddy. There will be always some degree risk involved. Even if you buy in India they will give 1 year of warranty which is useless. I don't believe in warranties in India. But what I am worried about is about step down transformer.

@gnan10 Perhaps there is some risk involved in using a step down transformer since we have many power fluctuations here in India. Mostly if the voltage is high it will put a pressure on the step down transformer, it can over-heat, some times even stabilizers can output an excess of 20v than a regular 220v which is 238~240v. The Step down transformer that you buy must be of highest quality and need to be checked with a multi-meter whether it is accurately outputting 110v of current. A step down transformer should work consistently without over heating for prolonged usage. So there is a risk involved in frying your TV if the transformer fails and some times the built in fuse cannot stop the flow of current, which eventually fry sensitive electronics inside the TV.

This is another interesting read, there are risks involved in using step down transformer along with a surge protector also. Never Use a Surge Protector with a Step-Down Transformer

I would choose Indian Voltage compatible TVs as there is risk involved.

Risk would always be there with electronic items. Nothing will last as we expect it to be last.
I feel owning an OLED is much riskier thing than using step down transformer.
I agree that the USA only TV would Completely rely on step-down transformer. But your TV is being damaged by a faulty step-down transformer is as equivalent as a TV being damaged by a faulty stabilizer. You need to keep same level of trust on step-down transformer as you do with your stabilizer.
As mentioned earlier my setup would be like
Stabilizer -> step down transformer -> TV.
It's always risky with electronics.

But I'm still not sure on the risk level.
Thinking if it's really worth the risk.

lol this website even has TCL 6 Series 65 inch for 75 k.which is crazy. In India we still have one plus garbage 55 inch for 70k.

H9G 65 is a good tv for 1.06L.But what about after sales service?suppose if you have some issue with panel then whats your plan

But when a stabilizer fails your 220v compatible TV is built to take upto +/- 240v of power, but with a step down transformer that range is even higher, so the risk is even higher. Stabs are made by reliable companies in India and tested for India and company vouches by their name saying that your expensive equipment is safe and we also safely combine stab + surge protector. A reliable step down transformer will be available but hard to find. So the degree of risk in your case is higher.

I think if H8g become success here in India then they will definitely launch h9g also.
TCL which is a well established brand in India and with assembly unit in India dumps garbage models for a higher price that are not at all VFM. So don't except any better from Hisense. I doubt Hisense will ever release a good TV in India. The garbage models from 1+ are sold like hot cakes in flash sales, you will hardly find a good Chinese TV being launched here. I think they reserve good models for European and American markets and they see India as a dump-yard for garbage models and sadly most Indians think about the price and not about the picture quality. So as long as we keep encouraging these garbage models they keep dumping the same.

H8g is not garbage. All reviews r positive. If u compare with TCL c7/c8 same price h8g is superior at all aspects.
FALD with 72 zones , DV, DA, 65 inch below 1 lakh is really worth it.
