How do i stream Amazon Prime?

I had the same need, and I bought the Fire Stick. The Fire Stick is not supported in India for Amazon Prime streaming. However it supports Mobile Phone mirroring (in a convoluted way) and that's what I use now.

For my second installation I bought the Chromecast 2 as a pure screen mirroring solution and it is superior in ease of usability.

Anyone checked with Amazon Fire TV? I heard it works with Prime in India

Are there any new cost effective options for casting Amazon prime to TV, for Indians?

No, the best possible way to get Prime video is to buy Sony, LG or Samsung Smart TVs of Model 2015 or later, in order to enjoy Amazon Prime video in full glory. No other ways of working. No Chromecast, No Fire TV.

Apple TV is a choice, which you can Airplay the video, but current Apple TV is already aged.

I am running AP video on Mini II8s android TV box (2gb ram, android 6.1) flawlessly, it can be bought for 3.6k brand new from AliExpress (pm if interested).

I have connected my PC to AVR now, which runs AP very well (HD video but no 5.1 audio only stereo , same as android TV) so it is another option. Anyway to get 5.1 audio from AP?

Or get SHIELD TV, APV works flawlessly in its full HD glory and with 5.1 audio on SHIELD TV...:), and yes chromecast also works, you play APV on Chrome browser in full HD and then cast it over to TV via chromecast...... yes it works ....

I am surprised that streaming from PC outputs only stereo.. Are you sure this is not a issue with your configuration?

Nope, I stream Netflix and YouTube as well, its perfectly fine 5.1 reproduction. Same with 5.1 Br Rips no problems. Strangely I don't get 5.1 for Amazon prime via Android TV box mentioned above. Video is HD though.

Amazon prime has reinstated chromecast support and google has opened youtube app in fireTV stick. Seems their squabble has ended

This was an old thread.

Not sure what benefit youtube app has in Fire TV now. I see no difference from before when you tube was playing via silk/firefox.

Voice assistant now works through the app, which I think was not possible with the browser. There's no change I noticed, other than that.

If you are a Mac user, I’d strongly recommend the classier Apple TV option. Yes, it costs a bit, but you can display your photos seamlessly if they are on the Apple cloud. What more, you can easily convert your albums into slideshows and screensavers. And of course, you can stream Amazon Prime and all other major movie and video streaming services. And much much more!

Yes, you could probably do all/most of it through some cheaper solutions but not in a seamless and elegant fashion as with the Apple TV. Previous gen Apple TV (if you aren’t keen on 4K) are available at bargain on OLX etc.

Hello Members,
First of all my apologies for coming running to the forum only when i need help. Truth be told, i am not an expert on AV issues and hence my lame excuse. Now that is out of the way, may i enumerate my issue?

I have a home theatre system configured as under:

I am able to stream Netflix through the SONY Blu Ray player. Question is how do i stream Amazon prime in this system?

The second issue i have is that i am a SAP ( Serious Amateur Photographer- what did you think i meant?) and i like to see some of my photographs on the HT system. Issue is that the Denon does not recognise the MAC and my photographs are in MAC. I tried installing a media server (PLEX) but it is not enjoyable. The aspect ratio, changes and the quality erodes.
Would appreciate help and sugesstions to improve the HT system too.

I really can not say about your pics but I am using firestick and have plugged directly into my Yamaha AVR and it works fine with 5.1 surround sound. AVR is illuminated with "Dolby Digital+" whenever I play any 5.1 movie and the sound is good too.

Also if I am playing prime video or netflix through TV's app then I need an Optical Digital cable for 5.1 surround as somehow ARC between my OLED & AVR is not working, tried varios options. So simple thing is too plug the firestick into AVR and enjoy.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
