Ur suggestions for 42" Plasma ?
Also, many say that Plasma's are not good for gaming coz of fixed frames in many games. What do u say on that ?
Further, personally I haven't seen any plasma under 80k (my max budget) which is better than Pana V20, the problem with it is bad bulky looks...
Folks,
Had a demo of both LG 50PZ550 Active 3D Plasma (77K with one 3d glass) and LG 42LW5700 Passive 3D LED (84k with 4 glasses)at Bajaj Electronics HYD.
Both look amazing!:clapping:
Plasma looks amazing but Passive 3D is always better.
The point here is LW5700 has a motion rate of 100hz which means flickering issue might be visible. So if you consider motion rate then there is only one choice- LW6500 series with 200 hz motion rate.
I read reviews about PZ550 mentioning the loss of sync issue in 3D after 15-20 min.
did anyone notice this at your demo?
Samsung 2011 3D plasmas do have issues with flickering and loss of sync. So in both ways LG is a better choice!
could anyone of you compare PZ550 and LW5700/6500 though both are different leagues.....
I got my LG 47LW6500. Its an excellent display. I am fallen in love with 3D. Watching 3D movies back to back. LoL. Two movies which i will rate on top for 3D experience is, Tangled and Avatar. These movies have so real 3D effect that you will forget you are watching the movie on TV. Its like you are inside the movie.
Without calibration the TV is too bright. After calibration, I am amazed with the picture quality. I was never a LG fan but I must say they have the best 3D TV in market now. Dont know what Samsung will come out with in near future. But definitely nothing this year. They have already launched their Active Shutter 3D TVs.
I upgraded my HTPC for 3D too. Core i3-2100 with H67 Motherboard is all your need to play any 3D movie. No need for discrete GPU. Install TMT5(my prefrence) or PowerDVD11 and just play your BluRay Discs. Select either "Frame Sequential" or "Checkerboard" format and Voil.!!
While watching 3D movies, you can adjust the brigtness and all other Video controls which were not accessible in other older 3D TVs. If you think 3D TV makes the movie dull, then check the backlight setting in LW6500. I can bet you cannot increase it above 50%. The picture will be too bright.
Yesterday i saw 2 movies back to back. Open Season 3D and Legend of The Guardians 3D. No strain on eyes, the movie experience was a pleasure. Glasses are ultra light. I would say, the Cinema 3D is a recommended product.
Oh by the way, when i watch Movies, i turn off Trumotion. So ppl who think this TV has less motion rate, then its a myth. In real you cannot watch movies in high motion rate.

So i read all the posts.. pls advice me.
i have been to all shops sony, samsung, lg
i need 55" or 60" tv
primary purpose : tata sky HD + movies/tvshows off my laptop (via hdmi)'
budget is 1.6 lacs
My experience : Plasmas seems dull..compared to LEDs when watching Tatasky when i saw in the tv outlets.
pls advice what to do.. ??? which tv to buy.. pls suggest
^^ I am not sure how the comparison can be fair between plasma ...... Plasmas do not have the 3d Cinema tech currently which LG has to offer, which is why most of the 3D tv experience was dull AFA picture quality goes. Plasmas are anyhow dull in comparison to LEDs ...... so the comparison is not fair if you as me per my opinion ....
