I am looking for lp/ep/shellac of........

There are 6 Lp releases of DV Paluskar on EMI label and 2 LP releases on CBS on the Swarashree label. Apart from the two mentioned the other four on EMI are
Great Master Great Music
In Memory
Hindustani Bhajan And Classical
Classical Vocal Morning Melodies

says who ???
is that a first-hand info (do u own all 6, know anyone who does) or a GOOGLE info ???
anyway, its very heartening to know, as D V PALUSKAR died at a very young age (early 30s)....
so it means more chance to hear the MASTER...

HITEN, the ones i have are,

1. SIDE A - KAMOD, SIDE B - BAGESHRI KANADA
2. SIDE A - 5 BHAJANS (Raghupati raghav rajaram), SIDE B - SHREE..

If someone is telling you there are 6 lp albums you need to respect that. And not start questioning it. It does not matter whether i own them or not. I have even provided you with the names of the other 4 lps.

Thanks prem and sumeet.
Prem is right there seems to be 6 albums. It doesn't matter if one owns them or googles them as this is a info sharing thread.
Regards
Hiten

Yaadon Ki Manzil is the title. Theres also a 2lp Raj Kapoor set which is very nice. I think its called A Tribute To Raj Kapoor

Hi Sumeetbagade

My apologies. There are only 4 titles. Two have been re released. Hence the confusion. Just checked that with the company.

Hi Sumeetbagade

Just checked that with the company.
prem has lots of repo offline too:P. so you told hmv archives are in worst condition,(in another thread) i think rolls royce shall start designing a pram if they haven t already :p:clapping:
prem brother, i d die to get master madan vinyls. can they be located??? selfish though i may be but i claim first rights to own them if any of our fellow members finds em please.:yahoo:

prem

thx for confirming that for me....

Also in many cases there are a lot of FOREIGN RELEASES of some popular artists whicn one comes across as a pleasant surprise....

for e.g -- i know that there are only 4 LPs of NAZAKAT ALI / SALAMAT ALI that were released in India... but, one fine day i found one recorded in GERMANY and never released in India...
stupendous recording and content...

Dr, its very sad to see no one in music companies take real care of the masters.

would like to narrate an incident here...
a first-hand info....

Pt. Hridaynath Mangeshkar ( Ustad Ameer Khan saheb's gandaa-bandh sishya) very often used to accompany ustadji for a lot of his concerts and recordings..... a long time after ustadji passed-away, Panditji requested PRASAR-BHARATI to give him a few of those recordings.... while he was there he also asked them to check the recording of a ONE HOUR long interview on the subject of CLASSICAL MUSIC and HIS training with Ustad Ameer Khan saheb.... the recording VHS tape was missing....
sometime later Panditji received a call saying that they had hunted the reel and that he could come over and take it.... when he visited them and they played the tape... and guess what ---- the dudes there had recorded some other programme over that VHS tape.....
this is just one such case...
we might have missed so many gems due to the carelessness of the employees there...... the only hope is if anyone might have recorded that programme while it was played by Doordarshan.... the possibility of which is very slim as hardly anybody owned a VCR then....

so, doc, prem, hiten please try and treasure all the indian stuff u have....

prem... in a year or 2 down the line... can we offer them to inspect grade and preserve all that stuff with us in a museum/collections with the rights of ownership staying with them only??
in a year or two, i can definitely spend maybe a couple of lacs for transportation and.. properties here in indore may come handy in providing space!!! as such we already have a latajee vinyls museum here with almost all her songs. a mecca for all the members, member belsarr can vouch. sumeet please ask him to.(no that museum aint mine but it is result of a one man passion hunt )
what about the radio ceylon content prem?? what condition they have vinyls in??
and master madan was on 78s only. recorded somewhere in 1930s. later lp re-releases were few and far between.
please please hunt thyem for me for us for community.

No Dr. They will not allow anyone near the masters. I cannot spell out the reasons. No idea about Radio Ceylon. Will try and see if i can lay hands on a Master Madan 78 or lp.

>>>

Master Madan will be difficult, even in 78 rpm.
Any records of Timir Baran, Fayyaz Khan?
How about the Hindi film Anubhav? Surreal music by Kanu Roy.

Regards

For info on 78s I would recommend a true gentlemans name, who single handedly is working on rare 78 rpm records. has a nice helping nature, walking encyclopedia of records/artists/songs. He has started Indian Society of Record Collectors and is based in Mumbai. Most of you will be knowing his name. Mr. Suresh Chandvankar.
