Please listen to short Opening track Pujjyyaa.... of S.P. Muthuraman's Raghavendra. You have to hear it in good old style 3 way Speakers (Grundig SPK or a Philips HiFi International or "HiFi Quality" etc ) esp. made for Vinyl listening.
You will once again say it the millionth time- "one and only one - Raja.. I salute you"

Ordered some agi music audio cds of Ilayaraja from flipkart.Got some of the cds today.Very decent recordings. How divine to hear Raja's music! Nothing relaxes me like his ever green melodies.

Dear IR fans,
If you have not listened yet, please listen to the songs and BGM (you have to watch the movie) of Malayalam Movie "Guru" [Mohanlal, SureshGopi etc].
The compositions will surely lift you to Trance state.

Also, this movie has a credit that, IR took more number of days to complete the Background score , than any other film. He used the Budapest Orchestra throughout the whole movie. BGM comes in two different styles based on the story of the movie.

Very true Murali. It must be the good deeds from previous life that one happen to listen to Raja in this life. The best part is, every time I hear his music, I hear something new which I would not have noticed earlier (or is it self-adopting my mood? god knows.) Only thing I know is , listening to his music gives me happiness.

The production house sold the musical rights at an altitudinous price of INR 2 crore (US$399,000), setting a record price of audio rights acquirement which was bagged by Sony Music.

Murali,
Both are Mono , as the word STEREO is not written either on the cover or the record. I played the Telugu version just now, and did not find any STEREO like effect.
May be the LP version is STEREO.

Had gone to Salem recently and saw a few AGI Music MP3's . Seems like they are out of stock or maybe unavailable in chennai . Saw one in citicentre - Landmark .These are not available in flipkart as of now

Raaja and Mohan Hits - Vol 1 and Vol2 - All songs from the listed movies -Total of 11+11 = 22 movies - Superb collection - Purchased both . Listening to them in my Cowon X7 .

Raaja and Kamal and Raaja and Rajni - Selected songs from movies .


The best part of these CD's is the 320KBps bitrate unlike the 128KBPS which is the norm in most of the original MP3's

Looks like Agi Music has also given up - thanks to Piracy . After the initial batch of Audio CD's , its now gone for MP3's . I was looking forward to Audio CD's of those combination's they mentioned in their Website

Hope Saregama also comes up with a similar collection for ilaiyaraaja , just like they have done for MGR and Sivaji hits
