Hi all I have just purchased the 90s technics SU X502 amp with matching speakers. Having read various articles I'm under the impression that class A amps are designed to get warm and can handle it. When I'm playing mine after about 5 mins whatever the volume it does start to get warm, but I'd say it's very warm, not hot. What should I do about this, if anything?
Secondly, being an old amp (that still fetches a price by the way)I want to make sure that I prolong its life as long as possible so are there any simple things I can do? I've thought of using a small fan and directing it onto the vent, or taking the back cover off and removing dust, could these be reasons for amp getting too warm?
Thanks
