Is E6 the best LED that Panasonic has ever produced?

exactly. nobody can beat a panasonic flagship plasma panel on day one of use.

of course, the E6 LED model is also almost up there. I say that after experiencing VT20 and philips 9704.

But that day one performance comes with a fine print: "a fair few of these sets will die, and a good bit more will lose this level of performance rather quickly. and if your set dies, we will be forthcoming with apologies etc. But dear gullible customer, we are not going to be in any hurry to fix the damn thing for you. Here, have another apology or two".

Of course, the print is fine and is not mentioned anywhere on the set. so we, idiotic gizmophiles, fall for it.

I have written to the MD, hoping for a turn around on the experience. When and if that happens, I will share details of the best quote i got for both: E6 and ET60 , which is by far the best cited on this thread/forum. I have information on confirmed availability of ST60 too, but again, I will share all this if panasonic EARNS this free PR. I will not be party to disillusioning any mates here by citing those price tags plus talk of the uber eyegasms we could possibly get from these sets.

till then, let me stare at that piece of glass.

Is the E6D the same as the E60? Could the OP please link to the reviews that he mentions in his posts? Whathifi etc. Thanks.

Also, am I the only one who noticed occasionally choppy pictures on this set?

Edit: For those looking to buy this set online, be aware that sites like Snapdeal currently only offer 1 year's warranty. Brick-and-mortar stores are offering 3 years during Diwali (according to them). Snapdeal's current price of 58k (up from 55k a few days ago) is also excessive.

Hello everyone,
I was watching this thread closely. In fact me and my wife were on the look out for a 42 led and was hoping to get a good deal.
After going through all the relevant threads in television section, went for E6D. Yesterday we visited khosla and made the booking.:o

We went for khosla as it is closer to our residence. We did not negotiate well as there was too much rush in the shop. The total cost was 54,900/-. We opted for bajaj finserv as there was no interest. It. Was 10/2 option. And today promptly the TV was delivered in the evening as promised. At around same time, we got a call from Panasonic that they have received installation notice. Within two hours of delivery, it is up and running!,

In fact, the guy who came for installation said that had we tried online purchase, it would have been at least 2 - 3K cheaper.

And here is the bottom line - it gets on in moments of plugging on. But what I relied most was a post from you guys that it up scales SD challens. Unfortunately, I am not finding any picture enhancement. In fact, we are from old CRT school and now having an opinion that the earlier 29 inch was better off!!!

Firstly let me congratulate you for your new tv.
Coming to SD, nothing can beat a CRT.
Hope you are using a settop box like airtel and not the cable connection.
And SD means 480i or 480p.
This number relates to the number of pixel info which cannot be mapped one to one on your display which has more than twice the pixels that are present in the input. So the SD processing engine has a herculean task of filling more pixels on screen with less pixel data.
Again check who is upscaling the input. Sometimes if the tv advertises its resolution on the hdmi to the settop box , the settop box itself upscales the input and feeds a 1080i or 1080p to the tv. So nothing much to do by the tv itself.
Check who is doing the upscaling. The input signal resolution should tell you this.

Congrats on your purchase. Btw from which Khosla Branch did you purchase it?

It was the khosla at Garia. I think that's the one which sells the most.

Coming to the SD channels picture quality, yes, Dirac is spot on. This no doubt is a good purchase, and if source itself is found lacking, what can the display do.....

Guys, one more question : I have booked Sony s-5100 blu-ray player from ishop international. Do you think it will gel well with this TV?

hi subro

just wanted to know the settings you are using to watch the e6d - also how are you saving the picture settings as whenever am switching off, the tv is restarting at the dynamic setting, so maybe i am missing some trick here

Got the 42E6d for Diwali. Paid 50k for it. Impressed with the picture quality so far, will try and calibrate it with the settings mentioned above to improve the quality...

Saw the E6 in the stores. It looks very dull as compared to Sony/Samsung. I am not sure what settings were applied. I saw the E6 in multiple stores and in all the stores it was the dullest TV I saw.

Sometimes the best way to make a line look big is to draw a small line adjacent to it.;)

I am not sure why Chroma is quoting such high prices.

I got this quote from Girias, 52k for the 42 inches and 74k for the 50 inches non 3D model.

Unfortunately they do not have stocks :(

thanks, for suggesting the price range. im planing to call Girias Marathahalli / indiranagar today..

till now i digged 1,04,000/- for 50DT & 87,015/- for 50ET in HF.

is DT really worth paying 20+ extra, im little confused.

There is a speciality for DT60 series in the history of panasonic leds.
It is the first panasonic led to win a complete 5 stars from whathifi.com.
One can read the review at whathifi.
