Is it safe to buy sony led tv from ebay power seller or from grey market?
if i have to buy from grey market in bangalore. Where should i buy and after i buy from grey market will sony repair my led/lcd tv if it goes faulty?

Its best to buy a tv from a local grey market.

In bangalore the grey market lcd dealers are located in sukh sagar mall located in gandhinagar.

If the tv goes faulty the manufacturer in your case(sony) will do a paid service/repair.

Many grey market dealers give their own inhouse warranty albeit for 1 yr free of cost. It may not be for all models / brands etc. Check out with the dealers.

@adder suggest me the dealers in sukhsagar mall who provide original sony lcd tv.

Me and my friend purchased 2 samsung 32 inch 3 years back and they work fine till now

Generally the guys at sukhsagar mall are trustworthy, just ask him to open and demo I front of you while buying

he will allow a demo if he is sure of u buying the tv, u can say no if u find a fault with the tv. I bought my sony 40BX420 from there...

for what price did you buy sony 40BX420 there and what will be the price of 32ex720 there

Steps to buy in grey market -
1. Go to the dealer, check the available model, note it.
2. Check the review and spec on website
3. Go to the showroom where u get the complete demo
4. Then decide. If you are 100% ok with the price and specs then ask the dealer for demo to purchase.

Some televisions sold in gray market do not match the specs and serial codes of Indian websites. As most of them are sourced from other parts of Asia . It would be better if you compare the specs of where this tv was originally sourced from.

other than no warranty and no bill what is the difference between grey market and regular showrooms

Some models in grey market along with the regular analog tuner, may have a additional digital tuner for DVB-T transmission, which is of no use in india.

Then how to buy india specific models.

You don't gain anything by going for a india specific model.

The indian specific models are also sold in other low cost markets.
Indian specific models are usually the low end models which start from KLV rather then the mid to high end which start from KDL .The KDL models sold in in asia except japan and china are the same as the ones sold in india officially by sony india.

Are you telling it is better to go for KLV OR KDL IN GREY MARKET

I visited Sukh Sagar mall today.

They have only Sony and Samsung TVs.

In 32", these are the prices I got without bargaining.

bx320 - 21k
cx520 - 26k

He also mentioned that there is a 42EX410 for 44k. Note that this is a 42" Sony TV (sony generally makes only 40" TVs) and it is an IPS panel LED. Couldn't find many reviews for this one, but looked like a good deal.

40BX420 was available for 34k.

If anyone is interested, we can all go together, checkout the models and prices and buy together.

PM if you are interested.

I am saying the KDL is better, since it also has the X-reality picture processing compared to the other KLV models which have the older BE3 .

@panny
Yes the 42" panel used in the EX410 is a LG IPS panel, the poor black levels in that model is quite evident, but nevertheless a bargain in the grey market for those who want a budget 42" version of LED-lcd tv.
But i would rather spend 3 to 4k more and get the 40EX520 which has a SPVA panel and better picture processing and better built.
