14 AWG is good to go, 12 AWG is supposedly better and 10 AWG is something I have come across only once on a forum. Beyond this, probably even the law of diminishing returns fails Don't get caught up too much over cables.14/12 AWG will suffice and simple HDMI cables do the job (My profigold was 650/- if I remember correctly). I would also recommend banana plugs as they makes it easier to attach/detach speaker cables and looks neater (to me).

The idea is to have clean connections and quality cables ... which is not necessarily an expensive route.

I can't stress enough the need to buy a pair of robust book shelf speaker stands for Q300. They contribute to the sound and are more than just "rigid" stands. So do factor in the price for those too. If you plan to keep Q300s on a platform such as wooden cabinet/table, the (lack of) rigidity of those platforms might limit the sonic capabilities of the speakers

if you can caustom made by local carpentar some rigid stand or table etc....costly stand idea can be thought later....

Given that i haven't tried it myself, i'd refrain from suggesting. However there are other forum members who have done it.
