You most probably have to. I haven't bought anything from letsbuy.com but have done many transactions in ebay.in and every time I had to pay for some octroi charges for the parcels that i receive. The exception would be for low priced-small sized parcels (below Rs 300/- in my case).

Yes. you have to. Although i didn't. The chap from Aramex said he convinced the guys to let him go. :)
 
I ordered some stuff ( non audio-video kind) from letsbuy - I called up the call center and they said they will bear the octroi. - However its one week since I placed the order and my stuff has not even been dispatched.

This happened with me too. Try to send emails and call them regularly. Most time they won't take up the phone or respond to your emails. However they will despatch it. So wait and see.
 
maybe local deliveries are quick - now it is 10 days since placing order and my stuff is still to be dispatched

- they have stopped answering emails now - calls get standard answer "your case has been escalated"

I agree. Their customer support is very jittery. I am trying to get my Galaxy S 2 for minor quality related defects and initially struggled for almost 15 days for them to accept to return under their 45 days replacement guarantee. Another 6 days for courier pickup to happen (delayed by bluedart for 3 days to pick and another 1 day to deliver due to their internal goof ups). Now when they have the product in the last 3 days, no update on the return shipment. So 20+ days in total and I am still following with them every to get a replacement for my OFFICIAL phone which has all my calls and SMS saved through Google which can not be transferred to my older phone. They just work as per their own pace without bothering to understand the sense of urgency and exceptional situation when the shipment itself was delayed after their delayed acceptance to replace the product.

They were initially not even answering why it is taking time and after 12 days follow up they asked me to collect a DOA certificate from Samsung service center (which can be obtained within 4 days of purchase!). It was only after several strong emails and writing to their twitter page, the replacement was approved.
 
I bought many small electronic items from them like pen drives, toasters...etc sometimes shipping gets delayed but it finally gets delivered.

Good thing abt them is that their prices as it is low..but if you apply the 15% discount...it gets even better...

They dont seem to stock everything they sell.....so sometimes it leads to delays...since they seem to sell at a loss..in fact my friend told me that they are being investigated/complained against by manufacturers as they sell below wholesale price.....kind of loss leaders to get eye balls... good for consumers like us.

those who need coupons..just google for them...the 15% works and I have used it many times..of course you have to use different registrations to get them.

Ordered a WD 2 TB (4900-discount = 4100) - as usual they dont seem to have it in stock...so been a week..hopefully will get it in a day or two:clapping:
 
i order a 1tb hard drive from them. order it on monday and dot deliver it on wenesday morning good service i must say
 
very unfortunate..really an eye opener...lets hope letsbuy work to save their reputation..
but for an ordinary man, what can be done to prevent such incidences..???
Its really difficult and headache when you get these kind of items till you get replacement..
This kind of incidences make people scared of e commerce in India..
 
For me it is a mix of experiances. I placed two orders on letsbuy one for a canon negative film cum flatbed scanner (here I availaed the 0 charge 6 month citibank emi option) and other order was a couple of items for which I redeemed my payback points. The first order (scanner) got delivered today and the scanner is working fine, seems brand new. The other order had problems with payback point redemption. points got deducted from my payback account but letsbuy said that they have not received it, yet due to some reason the order got booked in their system and was stuck on payment, I had to call them up to know the details. Cancelled the order and have asked payback for refund of points. However i think i go the lowest price for the scanner after applying the letsbuy coupon codes availabel online Letsbuy Coupons, Letsbuy Promotional Codes, Letsbuy Deals
 
I bought my Samsung Galaxy S2 from Letsbuy (through my cousin) and had to go for 45days replacement guarantee as it had several quality issues. Replacement took about 25 days and I seems to have got a refurbished phone as I saw (instead of brand new as they promised). After that I have tweeeted and emailed them several times, they promise to resolve the issue at the earliest, however the situation is the same since past more than 2 months now!

Also, they are usually very bad in keeping promises and I came across several communication gaps while interacting with them. One person says something with affirmation that things have taken care of and later I come to know that nothing was done in that regards (like shipping address, etc).

Indian Customer Support mentality... even I faced such situation with FLipkart. A CD key was invalid when I tried to install the game. Each day for one week, the customer support person keeps telling I will be getting call about pickup. I lose patience and demanded a "REFUND".. that is when things started moving...;)

Just 15-20 days back I ordered WD 1.5 tb external hard disk from Tradus for Rs 4300. I knew shipping can be slow and I wasnt in any hurry either. After about 5-7 days I asked them a mail specifically asking if they are out of stock since the price seemed too good for the deal. They assured that the product would be dispatched soon.

As a part of Diwali discount there was a Rs 1500 gift voucher also which was to be given.


Then after about 2 days more I got a mail that my order has been cancelled since they are out of stock. :D :D

However they refunded the amount themselves before I would have asked that. Also sent me a gift voucher of Rs 1500!!!!!!!



I havent used it yet. If it works I would be getting Rs 1500 without any purchase since my order was refunded. Thats another thing that prices of hard disks have now doubled.

Mate, Online transfer is instant......as per banking norms...be it RTGS or NEFT
