Problems with Letsbuy.com

I bought a P&S Camera for a friend who is not comfortable with online buying. After making the payment, I got a message that this page can't be loaded (server error).

But my card was charged. I got an SMS and an email from Citibank that "Rs.6,068.00 was spent on your Credit Card 4564XXXXXXXX0005 on 14-OCT-11 at LETSBUY.COM."

Sent an email to Letsbuy.com but did not get any reply.

October 15, 2011

I called up customer care and customer care executive told me that Letsbuy.com has not received the payment and if I got a message from Citibank that my card has been charged, the payment will be credited back to Citibank credit card. The executive suggested me to go ahead with a fresh order. He, in fact , released "hsbclb1" code for fresh use as we know one discount coupon works only once with one id.

So, I placed another order for the same camera and paid for it.

I was shocked to receive 2 packets from Letsbuy.com. I confirmed with Citibank that I have been charged twice. Tried to call customer care but could not because their lines were constantly busy.

Sent them an email about this and requested them to get one sealed packet pick up and refund my money as soon as possible.

Got a reply from Letsbuy.com with apologies and that they have arranged for pick-up with Fedex.

Replied that pick-up is ready with the address and invoice they have provided.

Fedex picked up the packet.

Emailed letsbuy.com about the pick-up and provided them pictures and tracking details.

Packet delivered to Letsbuy.com

October 27, 2011

Sent them an email requesting acknowledgement and refund.

October 29, 2011

Got an email from Letsbuy.com that they have initiated the refund and it will reflect in my credit card account in 7-10 days.

November 3, 2011

Sent them an email that the funds are not reflecting in credit card account.

November 5, 2011


Got an email from Letsbuy.com: First and foremost we regret the delay in the refund of your payment; however your submitted case is constantly being followed up and please be assured that the Payment Processor would be forwarding you the refund on priority. Further we have again forwarded the refund issue to payment processor to expediting the process.

Sent them an email that the funds are not reflecting in credit card account. No reply.

Sent them an email to CEO with cc to customer care. No reply.

I would like to highlight that a similar refund was initiated from another online selling website on 10th November and appeared in credit card account on 12th November. So, it takes just 2 days after they have actually initiated the refund.

Any suggestions guys ?

My online order yesterday (for a phone) had error after the payment was processed. I talked to letsbuy about it. Then the order got cancelled. (Did yours get cancelled too?) My credit card company tells me that the merchant won't probably claim the amount. And they said If I get the cancel notice (whatever that may be) from letsbuy, they would cancel the charges.
letsbuy guys told me that I would get the cancel notice within 48 hours which expires tomorrow morning. I am fairly confident I am not going to get any email from letsbuy. I would then contact them to send me a cancellation notice.
The credit card co tells me that if I am charged in the next bill and have not received the goods, then I can dispute the charges. May be that is something you can pursue with your credit card company. This was my first order with letsbuy and it was a disappointing experience so far. After the error, I decided not to order with them and I bought the phone from a local shop.

The customer care executive told me that that they have not received the payment so it will come back in my account.

He only suggested to place a fresh order and he also informed that he is cancelling the previous order from his end so that in rare case, if the payment comes to letsbuy.com, they will refund it instead of sending the product.
 
Just bought some stuff off Letsbuy.com and I'm glad that my purchase has been fairly handled. The only downside being a little delay in the dispatch, against their 4-7 day claim on the site, which can be due to a couple of pre-order items in my purchase list. Was not in a hurry so no big deal.

Got a PS3 with BF3 and WRC games, and some misc household electronics. All in all they took 10 days for dispatching and additional 2 days for courier delivery after ordering. All items were well packed and in great shape and nothing looked suspicious or like a repackaged item.

Well worth the savings on the PS3 and the games on which I wasn't getting discounted prices anywhere else. Thumbs up to them from my side, will purchase again without hesitation.
 
After sending so many emails, posting on social networks like facebook and twitters many times, finally I got the refund from Letsbuy.com yesterday.
 
ordered a SE phone from letsbuy ,delivered within 2 days ,outer packaging was horrible but the packing inside was intact.And the great diwali gift was sanjeev kapoor's paneer cook book.Also got 1000rs off the phone via coupon.
