Something is wrong.. This cant be right. Rs 164990 is the price for 55" LW5700. I think you forgot to and "1" before the figure. :D

By the way its LW5700 not 5600 right? That was my mistake cuz i was replying from my phone and forgot the model.

Re: LG Cinema 3D LW5700, LX6500 Owner's Thread

The 47" LW6500 & LW 5700 is launched. :yahoo:
Yesterday i went to the near LG shopee and luckily the Area Manager was there. I asked him for the best deal and he quoted 118,000 for 5700 and 124,000 for 6500 with TataSky HD and Motion flow remote. For Motion flow remote i did some bargaining. He wasnt ready to give as its of 2k.

Now i need to choose which one to pickup. The 5700 looks are better than 6500 which is just plain black. But in specs, 5600 has 5000000:1 contrast ratio and 6500 has 9000000:1 contrast ratio.
5700 has 100hz TruMotion and 6500 has 200hz TruMotion. And last is 2.4ms and 2.0ms response time.

What do you think which one is a good TV? Budget is not a problem. Even 6500 is in my budget but I just want to make sure I didnt wasted my money.

I would recommend the 5700. I do not believe that insane DCR (dynamic contrast ratio) claimed by the 6500. Actually, I don't believe in DCR. Period. On the other hand, the 6500 has 200Hz TruMotion and 0.4 ms less response time.

Suggestion: take your most challenging movie (or BD or HDD) having fast action scenes, low light/dark scence, brightly coloured scenes also, excellent quality film to test. Avatar will do but may be take a Harry Potter also. Check out how they fare.

Re: LG Cinema 3D LW5700, LX6500 Owner's Thread

In Bangalore, anybody any idea where can I get best price for 42LW6500+Motion flow remote? Also if I don't need freebies like Tata Sky connection; would there be any further discount.

TataSky HD is LG scheme. If you wont buy they wont discount you. So better take the free stuff.

Re: LG Cinema 3D LW5700, LX6500 Owner's Thread

I'm planning to check with LG on whether they'll replace my new 42" LW5700 because of clouding and leakage at the corners. It's the only gripe I have with the TV. Does anyone know from experience if they'll agree to a replacement?

Is it too much? Better check if it the same with other models or not.

They should.. If not, you could ask for a full refund...

Re: LG Cinema 3D LW5700, LX6500 Owner's Thread

I picked up the 55 LW5700 yesterday. Had it setup in the evening, so haven't had much time to play with it.

I have been using a Pioneer Plasma for the past 5 years. I love the PQ on the PIO and I think the LW5700 will need calibration to start looking as good or perhaps better :-)

I did notice light bleed from the side of the screen when the background is black and clouding when the white mouse icon is moved around the screen with the black background.

But, didn't notice any such artifacts while watching a movie from my PC or Tata Sky HD.

I will play around with the TV a little more and report back.

Re: LG Cinema 3D LW5700, LX6500 Owner's Thread

Having spent a few days with the 55 LW 5600, the light bleed and clouding on dark scenes seems to be very annoying when you are watching a dark scenes :(

This is really depressing, cause I had to return an LG 60 inch PK950 a couple of months ago as the showroom sent a tv that was used for demo with significant "burn in" on it.

I was watching Game of Thrones last night, and couldn't focus on the dialogues as my attention was more focuses on the clouding and light bleed

I am wondering if they will take the TV back, will call LG today and initiate the process.

They should... I returned 2 Samsung last year primarily for this reason.. Not sure how others tolerate such issues or rather we should say they don't even find such issues :)

Re: LG Cinema 3D LW5700, LX6500 Owner's Thread

Thanks Prankey.

I made a complain to LG, lets see how that goes.

I am not sure if the problem is specific to the TV that I have received or it's to do with a design flaw with this specific model.

If it's a design flaw, then I wonder if they will be willing to replace this LED TV with their 60 inch Plasma - 60PZ550

This LED TV is not bad at all, it looks really good in a well lit room, the color tones look natural after some tweaking and typical HD content looks smashing.

But, in a dark room with dark content I can clearly see the light bleed.

The clouding effect goes away if I turn off local dimming, but doing that also makes the blacks look grey.

I will try and take pictures and post it. For those considering this TV, unless you are picky and watch movies in total darkness, this TV is definitely worth a demo.
