Re: LG Cinema 3D LW5700, LX6500 Owner's Thread
Did a quick visit to Croma yesterday.
LG 42LW5700 - a good display. The bezel styling is somewhat akward but nothing obscene. The demo 3D content looked really nice. Without the 3D glasses on you can clearly see the horizontal stripes due to the nature of technology driving 3D. With glasses untrained eyes will not notice the loss in resolution. Picture is crisp and stable. From an angle, 3D did not suffer too much. Neither did the colors or contrast. The demo was just for 30-40 mins, so maybe further probe would establish off-axis viewing angles. Sadly could not check 2D on the same panel. Printed selling price 74,000.
Samsung 46D6600 - fantastic value for money if you don't want the higher 7000 model. The bezel is thin and sleek. In a dark room the display would look like a hung painting. Reflection pretty much present due to glossy screen. Not much of a problem once pictures are on. It attracts finger prints too. Off-axis viewing may be a problem for many. The blacks become bluish. 2D picture is amazaing. No chance to demo 3D. Printed selling price 1,20,000.
Next time I will look out for bleeding factor and a side-by-side comparison.
