Not entirely correct. All DVDs are indeed Region 2. But most BDs sold in UK are indeed region free. I have purchased 14 BDs from Amazon, UK so far - all region free. Some BDs are marked [Region Free] in the title itself. While others are not - quite a few of these are still region free.
The best way to verify is go to Blu-Ray.com. Change the region to UK by clicking on the British Unio Jack flag icon on the top right hand corner. Now search for the title and check region coding.

Its 45 GBP incl VAT, if you ship to India, it comes to 37.5 GBP and with free shipping to India, that would be the price.
Considering, I bought the Extended Edition DVD set in India at 2000 Rs. this seems ridiculously low price.

Hi friend - I copied the rpice here after checking the amazon order page. It was 55 GBP with VAT + other taxes applicable to UK - I got it for around 45 since delivering to INDIA.
Please note that we were talking about LOTR EE and I have the same with me. ALL the BDs are indeed region B and All the DVDs are Region 2. There were no information about the regions for this title until it reached the customers [not even in uk.blu-ray.com].
I am using my PC to view the movies and have AnyDVDHD, so region coding is not an issue till now
[the difficult part seems to be in finding a reasonably priced region free BD player]I also recommend uk.blu-ray.com for getting the details of UK versions of releases and blu-ray.com for US versions

Regarding region free player: I will suggest that you buy a Region B player instead of region free. You already have a region A player. So effectively you will be region free. A region B player will be much cheaper.

Hi friend - I don't have a blu-ray player till now - as said above using my PC. Hoping to buy a blu-ray player later this year or early next year after zeroing in on a Plasma TV [house construction going on so have to wait till the year end

Even in that case, two BD players will probably work out cheaper. The only issue is having a clutter of equipment. On the other hand, a large deck of instruments/equipment impresses novices no end. :lol:

I am with you just4kix. I added a Sony region B player (sent from middle-east) to PS3 which plays only region C. Since most of the blurays procured are from AmazonUK (very cost effective), the AV room has region B and the bedroom has the PS3 - very convenient for those BBC dramas if you are a bit tired to set up the big screen event.

Elite Squad 2. A must have Bluray. Better than the first part. Just saw the movie yesterday. It was excellent. Was watching alone in my HT and you wont believe, in few of the scenes I was literally whistling on the action.
