Must Have Blu-Rays

No more gifts unless its for customs duty exemption

Yup, since you are not familiar about some old threads, just a hint about "Gift Thread".. Instead of open exchange of BD's which was prohibited here from one member to another due to some reasons, we created gift thread and will exchange it over their collection. And interested titles will sent over PM to that particular member and will be done with their mutual understanding.

You will get PM from me:lol:, you will understand...

Hi Krishnendu,

As per my understanding all the postages from amazon UK to kerala comes through Cochin. From there it will be verified by customs and sent to corresponding post offices, [confirmed with the postmaster]

So its mostly with the person to examines the package :indifferent14:

In my case, I have received 23 packages from Amazon uk and got slapped with duty on 6.

Packages costing 70 GBP came without any duty and but those wroth 25 to 35 got the wrath :p

I have ordered from Amazon.co.uk about 10 times (port of entry = Mumbai).

Two times, I had duty slapped. Both times, I forgot to mark the package as "gift". The label on the package said "merchandise". Now "mark as gift" may or may not work - it has always worked for me.

The whole package must be "gift" marked - marking individual BD's as gift does not work.

surprising no one has mentioned RaOne...its a damn good movie to test your surrounds and subwoofer! The surrounds are almost engaged for 2 hours , I have hardly come across any blu rays which do that!

Because the essence of a 'must have' Blu ray is still the movie, the effects are secondary IMHO

If the value of the package including shipping is less than Rs. 10,000 then no duty.
