Need new Home Theatre under 40000-55000

Are you sure YHT2910 supports Dolby Atmos ? I checked on Yamaha India's website and it shows support for Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD only (no Dolby Atmos or DTS:X)

Have a look on the screenshot of infibeam's site

Dolby Atmos needs extra height/ceiling speakers. For Example: A 5.1.2 Atmos setup will have a regular 5.1 setup PLUS 2 height/ceiling speakers. So effectively, your AV receiver would be driving 8 channels(2 Front, 1 Center, 2 Surround, 2 height and 1 subwoofer)[/QUOTE]

OK clear one question of mine avr with dolby atmos will be right choice for now for us (Indian)?
If not then i will go for yht 299 otherwise will purchase firstly avr with 7.2 option with two fronts + one sub only (If fits my pocket)

Atmos makes sense if you are going to set it up, if not, invest in better interconnects.

Where are you planning to install this? Dolby Atmos will need a close room to hear the quality surround or else any open space will wave out the surround effect.

I think the minor air speed generated by the fans may divert the surround effect..

Also, it strongly depends on what source you are going to plan on the Atmos system?? If old DVD or downloaded materials majorly then go with 5.1 which has DD+ & DTS HD as it makes no sense of investing into something which you can't use.. Simple.. :ohyeah:

according to me u need a roof which has a plain surface. i don think when they were designing they had india in mind and ceiling fans in mind.
even without a moving fan. i think a static fan will also disrupt the sound waves .

i think atoms can work only work in a place where u have a dedicated home theatre room with a plain roof.

and u need blurays which has atoms sound. certain bluray rips are available online which do have those.

i think it is very difficult to have a atoms setup under 55k

We don't leave in 80s where roof was not plain.. ;)

Agree.. No Atmos under 55k..

OK Guys let me clear you according to my requirement, my installation place will be open and the size of the room is 12*15 sq ft so recommend according to these requirements. Yamaha YHT-299 is ok option and can i upgrade the fronts+center+sub in near future using same AVR.

Thanks for your valuable suggestions

Understand one thing very clearly.. the AVR which comes with YHT 299 can only produce 70-100 W/chn & Sub output is also 100W so if you change the speaker in future will not give you any additional booming sound bcoz the speakers power will remain same.. If you add any speaker with high power, will not get clear sound..

Go with AVR & front speakers now.. you can add center+surround & Sub later on..

I will suggest for to go with Pioneer VSX 524 (~26k @amazon) + Yamaha NS8390 tower speakers (15960 @Infibeam after applying WC6 code for Rs. 1020 discount) This perfectly fits in your budget..
