Need suggestion on bookshelf for NAD D3020

Please share your experience of dali and wharfedale long hours listening at low volume ?

Dali Z3 and WD 220 is no comparison, doesnt make any sense at all.... you must see it as Dali Z3 Vs WD 225 & Dali Z1 Vs WD 220.

If you ask between Z3 and WD220....Z3 is a definite winner coz it is got a bigger driver 7" so more bass. WD220 is good, but will lack bass if you are a basshead.

Which Amp you paired with both ?
I am a movie person, hence have driven both the speakers from AVR. Hence cant comment from Amp point of view.

Which you recommend ?
Dali takes the edge for sure, but audition is the key, as sound & music is very subjective.

About rear ported bass port, I would be placing speaker on desktop table, I can place speaker 1' feet from wall behind, also distance between two speaker would be 6' feet or more, Any concern in this area ?
1' gap behind is good enough for rear port speakers to be effective.

I wanted comparison between dali z1 vs wharfedale 220
Or z3 vs 225.
Like I said Dali takes the edge, but the taste might differ from person to person. Wharfs are warm sounding and Dalis are Brighter speakers... that's the difference, cant say one is good or bad over another.
But there are many happy souls who own Dalis

Any one from pune has wharfdeale 220 or 225.

If I can listen to it would be great, otherwise have to make a choice based dali zensor demo and wharfedale online reviews.

As per review posted on youtube and going through comment for dali z3 and wharfedale 225, looks like wharfedale 225 is better for long hours of music listening.

I would have also gone blind, however my confusion is
NAD D3020 ( warm Amp ) + Wharfedale ( warm Speaker )

NAD D3020 ( warm Amp ) + Dali ( Bright Speaker )

I read somewhere warm + bright is good combination compare to warm + warm.

Any FM can comment on above point.

Also where wharfedale is made ( china or somewhere else ) ?

Dali is made in china, however I read quality is good.
Please note dali is designed in Denmark, Manufactured in China. I don't find any quality issues, since I use it both Made in Denmark and Made in China.

Hello,

If you are ok with considering other options then do look at the Elac B6. One of our FM who also happens to be my friend has them. He has paired them with a vintage Luxman amp. Believe me, they rock right out of the box. He also has Dynaudio Emit M10 which costs almost double but still the Elacs sound equally competent.

The amount of bass they can create is incredible for bookshelf speakers. You definitely would not need a sub for listening to music.

You can get them for under 25k and at that price they are very hard to beat. Do give them a try.

Cheers

where is it avilable for 25 . i would liketo go for it . 29.5 is the quote i am getting .

Hi,

After using Polk Audio with a NAD/Marantz amps for a couple of years now, Zensor 3 to me did not sound bright at all. They sounded lovely and very well balanced.

If this is going for a blind buy, in my opinion Zensor is a better choice than Wharfedale.

MaSh

Please check desktop table on which I am going to place bookshelf.

Let me know it will fine or some special care will require to be taken care for the placement.

Hai frnds. Im a newbie. First im interested in buying htib.thn after visiting hifivision, i changed my opinion. So I have decided to buy an entry level reciever.. i have shortlisted 3 receivers. Pioneer vsx 531, denon 520bt and marantz 1506. For front speakers i go with wharfedale diamond 220 speakers. Does it makes a good combo?? Please help me frnds.. initially i hav a budjet of 50k. But after reading lot of threads in our site, i decided to build my system in step by step process. Thnk u frnds

Marantz 1506 + wharfedale diamond 220 should make a good combo  I'm sure you will not feel the need of sub, as this combo will deliver adequate bass response.

However audition the combo & then decide. All the best :)

Cheers,

Sir,after hearing ur suggestion, i changed my mind from pioneer to marantz.marantz avr is not in my budjet,i will extend it. My only concern regarding marantz is does this company having indian warranty and service centres?? Also, the actual price of this receiver is nearly 55k. But it is available for 42k in hifimart. So inly i shotlisted this one. Could you tell me sir, about buying this avr in hifimart.

HifiMart is a trusted online store and they offer Indian warranty for sure. Do not worry about that. I would advise simply pick up the phone and call them and clear your doubt.
Marantz will be a good choice, as they are musical too. Go for it.
But if you can audition it before making the purchase, it would be better. I dont know which part of TN you are located, where ever you are its worth taking a trip to Chennai or Madurai (which ever is nearer). Trust me you wont regret it later.
