OLED TV's price/best quote thread

Great prices !

Can you specify details of the price 1.9L for LG C9 ? Like shop details and what is all included like Cashback, 3 year warranty and EMIs ?
I would like to add that all these quotes were received on 29 Sep 2019 (Navratra) and I booked the TV on 30th by paying token amount. I had visited about 10 plus shops since 24 Sep 2019 and given my contact number everywhere. Till 28 Sep even I received very high quotes for the stated models but on 29 Sep all the shopkeepers gave me their best prices one after the other in the morning.

I had clearly mentioned to all the shops that I don’t want any goodies/sound bar with TV except cashback and had refused payment by paytm as then the shopkeeper used to show all the paytm benefits as an add-on to the price.

The 65 inch C9 rate was given for around Diwali time as the shopkeepers wanted time to sell the free soundbar before they can sell the TV. If LG had given the option to customer to buy TV only, then sub 2 lac prices would have been possible.

Also the rate sheet for Oct 2019 has seen a 3% upward revision of OLED prices from Sep 2019 and I verified the same from the dealers rate sheet.

In my case the 55 inch deal was helped by Tata CLiQ showing the price as 1.27 lac during the period which helped bring down the prices from 3 dealers. I received 3 years warranty and 9k cashback on ICICI credit card no cost EMI option.

The Sony prices were due to super aggressive pricing by one of our local retail chain in Jaipur “Great Eastern”. Even if you went to buy from them LG/Samsung TVs they would bad mouth them and told the customer to go for Sony. I was so close to going for the A9G but then went with C9.

Were the Sony prices pre or post cashbacks? What exactly tilted you towards LG? Was it just the cost or something technical

Finally purchased 55 inch C9 for 1.19 lac (after 9k cashback). I didn't want any goodies so price was reduced accordingly. Unit received was sealed pack with manufacturing date of Sep 2019. The installation team gave me Jio dongle and 4 packs of LG cleaning cloth.

Those looking for other OLED models, I got the following prices after negotiation:
LG C9 65 inch : 1.90 L
Sony A9G 55 inch : 1.73 L
Sony A8G 55 inch : 1.50 L

These are all local prices in Jaipur after a week of negotiating at Brand stores, multi brand retail shops and local dealers.
Is Jio dongle some running offer from LG? Did you specifically ask for it?

Prices are pre cashback but the bundled Oakter Home Automation kit has been removed. Some background regarding my purchase decision:

My hand was forced to upgrade to OLED since my Sony 46” W95 quantum dot LED went kaput few weeks ago. I wouldn’t have gone for the upgrade if it was still working. Going for oled I had the same apprehension as everyone else regarding burn in but some research into the issue left me satisfied with the decision.

Coming to choice of brand, I had only purchased Sony TVs till now as their picture quality has always been a cut above the rest. But the 2019 series LG oled had few things going for it:
1. HDMI 2.1
2. Nvidia G-sync support
3. Perceived higher brightness
4. 3 year warranty vs 2 year warranty
5. Price

You can ignore the first 2 features if you don’t plan to connect PC to your TV but I did and hence the choice. If I had option to make the same choice next year, Sony would get my vote despite the price and warranty if they incorporate 1 and 2. There was also the thought that if I can spend this much on Sony now then why not go for a 65“ option from LG for 20k more.

There are 2 other technical differences which I have heard from the AV community which I personally have not tested but it did sway my vote.
1. Dolby Vision implementation: LG uses chip based DV implementation while Sony uses software based DV (Profile 5, I believe). This leads to somewhat dimmer images in case of Sony in Dolby Vision content.
2. Automatic Brightness Limiter is more aggressive on Sony as compared to C9. Again, this is divisive issue at avsforums with both sides defending it. I haven’t observed anything yet.

Sony also has few things going for it like best in class motion handling, amazing upscaling chip and the acoustic surface audio. Also if you believe calibrators at avsforum, Sony gets A graded OLED panels along with Panasonic and LG E series from LG. That doesn’t mean you can’t get one in C series but chances are less. Better panel means better quality control, less chances of getting tinted panel, no vertical banding etc.

With all that being said you won’t be disappointed with either. These are 2 of the best available televisions available in the world today. Just buy and enjoy !

I didn’t even know about it. At time of billing the dealer just said the installation team will give you jio dongle and microfibre cloth. I also got Rs 750 cash rebate by showing OTP from LG.

Ok, I actually bought one cloth from the installation team. Dealer didn't mention anything about any of them.

Congrats on the purchase, it's good to see many people buy C9 at competitive price recently.

I am planning to buy one C9 this month and if there are others in Bangalore, can we get together and approach the dealers to get a better deal?

I am planning to visit couple of stores (Devi International, Reliance Digital etc) in Jayanagar, Bangalore today evening and see what they have to offer!

For Bangalore folks and @Tirupati @birendra_ssr

I visited 3 stores in Jayanagar (Ashoka Pillar Road) and here are the details:

Devi International
C9 55 - 1.35
C9 65 - 2.20

Reliance Digital
C9 55 - 1.50
C9 65 - 2.30

Pai International
C9 55 - 1.40
C9 65 - 2.30

Few pointers
  • All the prices above are before cashback but without the soundbar freebies (Reliance and Pai said the Jio dongle is for LCD/LED TVs only and not for OLED). Reliance is offering the soundbar and a 32inch LED TV by Sharp worth 15K (selling price)
  • The price given by Reliance and Pai are generic prices mentioned to all walk-in inquiries and once I decide to buy the TV (i.e. when it is ready to be billed) they can talk to head office and get the final price they can offer. Both refused to comment on how low it can get.
  • All the 3 stores have 7500 cashback offer from HDFC and ICICI and two cards cannot be used for 1 bill (this was possible last year). Reliance guy mentioned about an additional offer by Bajaj Finance where there is an 11K worth of coupons for additional purchases)
  • Both cards have interest free EMI with EMI duration of 6, 9, 12 months (12 months is max)
  • Devi international store was insanely crowded, and the store guy was not very keen to discuss.
  • Reliance and Pai guys were nice and open for discussion, they both asked what price I am getting from other stores and they might be able to match it or even give a better price. I told them I have been offered 1.3 for the 55-inch model and less than 2 lakh for the 65-inch model.
  • Reliance and Pai guy said price might reduce close to Diwali (When asked, initially they refused to acknowledge it and later they kind of agreed to it, Reliance guy said C9 55 might get a price cut by 10K and C9 65 by 20-30K)
  • Both Reliance and Pai guys have taken my number and have promised to call me by the 24th or 25th of October to present their final Diwali/Dhanteras day offer.
  • I did mention to both Reliance and Pai guy that currently we are 4 guys who are interested in the OLEDs (3 for 55 inch and 1 for 65 inch)
Based on my interaction today I have decided to wait till Diwali day for a better deal/offer.

Thats a great work man.
I am based in bangalore and planning to buy a 55 inch before diwali as well.
I shortlisted samsung Q80R and LG C9 but worried about the burn-in issue.
The prices you are quoting are too tempting for me to go for C9.
Today I enquired at croma, marathahalli and they are quoting ridiculously 1.8 L for C9 and some cashback.
And a sales guy in HomeTown quoted same and even challenged me that if I find lower price in bangalore, he shall give me 10k worth as gift.

anyway, keep us posted.
We can opt for group buy.
