OLED TV's price/best quote thread

This could just be an NVIDIA thing. Lets wait for PS5 and XBOX Series X to be tested to these TV's before we can take this discussion further.
If it were a card thing, would show up on the C9 as well. Problem only shows up at 120hz 4k, when colour gets downsampled to 4:2:2 from 4:4:4. Likely has to do with the bandwidth truncation to 40gbps against the full 48gbps that the c9 has. Hopefully the two companies work together to figure it out. Given the bandwidth, expectation was it would downsample to 4:4:2 (10 bit colour) instead of 8 bit colour. The C9 has full 48gbps bandwidth for hdmi 2.1 so can manage 4:4:4 at 4k 120hz.

CX can support 4:4:4 10 bit at 4k 120.40 gbps is enough.
check this video for details

Theoretically its supposed to work. Practically, this is the first HDMI 2.1 source. It works with 48gbps LG TVs, doesnt work with 40gbps one. Like I said in the earlier post, hopefully the two companies work together to figure it out. For whatever reason, both LG and Samsung have decided to limit their HDMI 2.1 to 40gbps.

Edit:
Here's a quote from the NVidia reddit thread:
"Only the LG OLED CX model suffers from subsampling 4:4:4 to 4:2:2 at every resolution and framerate except 4k 60Hz, 1440p and 1080p 60Hz. Everything in between seems to be affected by chroma subsampling. Nothing fixes this not changing between 8bit and 10bit, SDR and HDR, RGB etc. etc. Because this problem is so specific to the CX model I believe this is due to LGs firmware."

Thread here: Top post keeps getting updated so hopefully a solution shows up soon

There have been some g sync related issues but those seem solved

Good info.
Ill follow this post and check for updates.
Also, i still think its a Nvidia driver bug for CX than an FW issues (Given that Nvidia 3000 series just came out). But we'll see what happens.

I suspect CX as similar issue has not been seen on 4k 120hz / 144hz monitors, which have a larger user base. If it was driver related, would show up there as well.

Ironically, Nvidia had used the 8k LG OLED to show off the higher end 3090 card

It's not a driver issue. Driver issue is the bug with GSync being broken with the latest update (it does get fixed if you roll back to the last driver). Also, if it was a driver issue it would affect the C9 as well.

The CX uses an on-chip HDMI 2.1 solution rather than dedicated(and hence expensive) chip they used on the C9. Might be issues on firmware on that side.

It seems that lg is aggressive in launch

Someone must be very high while writing this article

Looks like someone had a monthly quota of Articles to be completed with strict deadlines. Sounds mostly like a press release for a tabloid with a catchy headline, clickbait.

You are right.. similarity in articals for same news indicate it is a press release.however it is good thing that they are eager to capture the market with possible advertisement starting with press release.
They are well prepared as givan 3years warranty in onam fest, expecting some in diwali too.however i am curious to know how must down price they can offer in current situation.

Man I have totally amped myself up to spend the big bucks on OLED this Diwali. Really hoping the 55 inch comes around 1.25L otherwise will get very hard to justify the purchase.

the same listed price 3.15 lakhs I think. and yes, the soundbar is much cheaper then the listed price. The 3.1.2 atmos soundbar SN8YG is available for 42k on RD
I would recommend you to get the one which has eArc like JBL 9.1 or samsung q900t/950t to pair up this beast TV.
JBL 9.1 is best bang ofr buck
