One Week with my new LG 42LD460!!!

Well, I got a quote of 47k for the lg 42ld460 and 54.5k for the Sony Bravia klv40nx500.. amongst these two models at the said price, which would be the better choice?.. if the nx500 is anything as good as the ld460, i would lean towards the Sony for its smashing looks, brand image and reliability..also, not much reviews are available on the nx500.. can anyone review the model?.. also is Sony's after-sales service lousy compared to that of LG?..please enlighten me..

^wow, where did you get that quote for 54k for the Sony NX500? The cheapest i've seen it was for 59k in Bangalore. Is that the grey market price?

Not grey market.. Its the price quoted at White Planet, an electronics store in Cochin.. Dealer told the NX series doesn't have many takers, with an irritating reflective panel and all, due to which they're pushing the stocks.. So, what do you think.. Should I go for the LG?.. The dealer told me to go for the Sony only if style is preferred over substance..

Hello, thanks for the feedback, even I am planning to buy LD 42LD460 in the coming weekend. I want to know can we connect 5.1 channel home theater system to the this LCD?... If yes, how to connect it?

im stuck in between plasma (panasonic x20) and LCD ( LG LD460 ) , cant able to decide.

Any inputs to decide between two is welcome :) main use ( TATA SKY , PS3 )

Cheers !

In my views, this (uncertainty even after some homework) is one of the criteria for going with LCD.

@ csczero,

Don't go for plasma, if you consider picture quality first is LED, then LCD and last Plasma. I would suggest you to go with LG LD460, I have gone through many review about this LCD and looks good to me and also price is also dropped due to festive season, earlier it was quoting @ 52K now for 46K u will get it easily in Bangalore

Today I happened to see 42" X20 demo, if you ask me to provide a straight feedback: I would say forget about this TV.

My V20 at Zoom 3 on cable TV seems to deliver a better quality compared to X20 DVD quality. I watched a DVD, at 6 ft you can see the pixel cells. It looks like, you need at least 10 ft distance to enjoy the DVD quality, obviously you need even more distance for watching cable TV. I watched the demo in Dynamic mode (Dynamic mode seems to provide best contrast picture in Panasonic Plasma TVs).

I will not buy this TV even at 32.5K that many people have bought as a group buy.

Given that many people gave a wow feedback on this TV, I am not sure what's their baseline for the quality or the demo unit/dvd player (Philips) in the store is defective.

There was a 42" C10 Panasonic Plasma TV besides X10 on display, which is also delivering the similar picture quality that of X10. Interestingly LG PJ560 was also on display which is also delivering similar in picture quality. The source for former two was from same DVD player while for the PJ560 was being fed from a different DVD player.

Picture quality will be almost similar when u compare the different brands, main thing is look @ the features, format support, sound quality etc.
