Panasonic 50Gt50d at 1.2L

Unfortunately in my city there is no one to negotiate..
Croma and vijay sales don't have either Samsung 8000 or Panasonic gt50 or even st50.. If asked they can arrange a set for a great discount of 1.25lacs..!!!
Authorised dealers of Panasonic are even worse and they don't have it since beginning( not went out of stock)
So had to go for the most risky approach of online buying and shipping..
Last year I got 50v20 from kanpur safely and hope everything will be fine this time also..
If the discount is 1.25 lakhs (on MRP of 139K for GT50), you can get 50GT50 for Rs. 14K! :p Kidding!

You should talk to Infibeam and get clarity on the matter such as transport damage, etc.

They told me as a Diwali festival offer they will give me the set for only 1.25 lac, if I book now and wait 1 month for delivery:clapping::yahoo:

Infibeam people said they will send tv in a wooden enclosure as an extra protection apart from regular box of the tv.. If this is the case( I read this thing on this forum by 1 forum member also), then I suppose chances of damage are less. Plus they said if I receive damaged piece and I report within 48 hours, they will either replace with newer one or refund if the stock is not available..
What else can we expect at this stage? Only time will test their claims ( and I wish I wouldn't need to test their any claims)..

Then go for it (with Infibeam).

Few weeks back I had purchased one HP Multi function printer from Infibeam, It came with wooden enclosure. No damage.

You may not believe I ordered one centre table for my hall at Pepperfry, it was a good deal.. they delivered in a wooden case, no damage whatsoever ...

Infibeam has asked for statement of account indicating transaction with infibeam along with photo id.. To verify the authenticity..
Is it a regular practice with high value transaction?

Oops..!! .. they gets informed by the billpay or whosoever is their bill payment gateway ... I think it is too much for them to ask customer for to provide proof of payment... they can always check at their end...

BTW.. r u sure that trasaction completed successfully, and you have received the successful transaction details by sms etc?

Yes.. Transaction finished perfectly.. They sent me mail immediately and I have got order no.. Even they confirmed that payment received.. No issue with that..But they say that they will only proceed further if I provide scanned copies to verify authenticity.. It's may be because the account name and the name on card is completely different..On the other side bank people say they issue statement at the end of 40 days..

Asking for photo Id is ok but asking for statement to verify authenticity is too much even though it's in benefit of customers..

Is this a routine protocol?

Why can't you submit a copy from the online statement?

Okay, in that case, actually they wanted to be sure that there is no fraud transaction. It is always better use your own card (issued in your name), else you could have requested the order in the name of the cardholder. In any case, may be you can ask the merchant, whether it is fine if you send a photocopy of the card, to prove that the transaction is genuine..

Which is the bank? You can request the bank to issue the statement immediately and if there are any charges (around 100/-) just pay and get the statement printed out in the branch directly. The bank cannot decline a customer saying that they issue the statement only within a cycle and all. Most of the merchants (including online) do not rely on online statements so better to go to the branch and give a request for statement and get it stamped (if the bank allows normally it is digitally signed/generated). Just scan this physical copy and send it to Infibeam, you are done with the proof.

Thanks

That's ridiculous. The payment was approved and received at merchant site. No merchant can request for further proof especially for online transactions.

Oh is it like they sold all their stock coz of the huge discounts or actually they never had any real stock beyond 1 or 2 pcs

Ultimately infibeam agreed to scanned copy of credit add allotment letter stating name and number of card along with photo Id..

Now the waiting starts..

Bank was axis bank and interestingly it's Surat branch server was not showing the transaction..!!! When infibeam itself confirmed the payment.. Bank people said due to heavy transactions in festival seasons , server is not updated.. How strange!! Not sure in today's online banking era such excuses can stand anymore..

Stanchart takes 2-3 days even during regular period.. I don't think it has anything to do with Festival time.. 2-3 days or so is usual.. I think it is may be due to the reason that they batch process after confirming the actual transactions (e.g. eliminating the failed ones)... hope u get your TV considering that they now shows out of stock..

Even with ICICI, the SMS or email alert may be instantaneous but the online records gets updated two our three days later.
