Panasonic 50UT50 urgent purchase in Bangalore - best price

Is 50U50 is available in india.? Found good review. I think this is the cheapest Full HD 50" 2D , suitable for those who does not want 3D still a good picture quality with 1080p.

Panasonic TC-P50U50 review

No. The U50 models are not available in India. In a bid to encash on the (misplaced) enthusiasm and popularity of 3d, only UT series is available. And people also wonder and ask, "What? I am spending 70-80k and still not going to get 3D?".

Does anyone have the latest prices for the Panasonic range in bangalore?

When i checked at the Panasonic brand shop the prices they quoted seemed 2-3k higher than what most people on the forum seem to be quoting.

Got my 50UT50 on last Sunday for 74k with 2 3d glasses and with the HT. So far viewing experience is stunning and I can vouch that its a great buy. It do have ambient light reflection but with the budget I had this is the best I could afford.

I checked out with E550 too but Panny plasma is anyday better.

So far going through breakin period to unleash UT50s full potential

Congratulations! Where did you buy it from? Please post some pics :)

I got it from Koramangala Brandshop. The scenario was that I went for 42UT50 when the sales guy throw me this offer for 50". The offer sound so unreal(after going through numerous price thread including this) that I immediately grabbed it without bergain. Otherwise could have chopped it down by couple of thousand more. Nevertheless I am happy to the birm.:yahoo:

I dont have HD STB as of now, planning for tatasky after reading such a good review. Will post pics once DTH would be installed or with some HD clips.

Awesome, gratz on the new baby mate.Plz post more impressions and a few screens when u get time.

Also, can u plz elaborate a bit on the above bolded part? Asking coz me too torn between the 2 sets.Earlier, almost decided on UT50 without a demo but after seeing E550 was awarded 5 stars by WhatHiFi , am extremely confused now.

Thanx and regards

One of my freind recently bought E550 and I was totally dissapointed with the contrast and black level of this piece(no offense to E550 owner its just my personal judgement). With the best setting and with BD playing, the contrast level was quite dull. But I was keeping myself open due to its BD 3D player offer. On the other hand when I demoed UT50 in showroom (dickenson road brandshop) with all glittering lights and showroom sorrounding the contrast was anything but mesmerizing. That nails the confusion then and there.

I am not sure about E550 but UT50 3D is also something to cheer about. I downloaded a 3D clip from youtube and with lil ambient light its near to theatre quality.

Will post pics in couple of days.

Thanx for the information bro....here, both pieces are unavailable for demo as of now.Have to go by reviews and user experiences alone, and already having couple of Samsung TVs made me think of Panasonic this time.

Congrats for the buy and welcome to the club (I brought 50UT50 couple of weeks back). I would second your opinion on viewing experience...:yahoo:

The price is more or less in line with market price - I was being quoted 75-77K 3 weeks back before negotiations... hence 74K is a good price. May be some of us on this thread scared you with 80K+ quotes ;)

Get HD STB ASAP - the experience is gonna blow you away.:clapping:

I would 2nd this since I had also seen Avataar 3D on 50UT50 for few mins at the dealershop before buying and the experience was gr8 (I am a regular 3D movies viewer in cinemas). I have not seen 3D on E550 but UT50 surely packs a punch.

A lot depends upon picture settings and ambient light conditions. But ones own eyes are the best judge. Panasonic panels are generally less bright and hence offer greater blacks. Samsung plasma panels are brighter on the other hand. Some like the former method/technology, some the later.

How do you compare the 3D on a TV vs in the latest cinemas in terms of pop out effects? my 3D experience in cinemas dates back to chota chetan..god knows how many years back.

tried finding nemo 3d last friday..but flopped when the theater (Rex) 3d wasnt working and got a refund instead

With 60000 INR, which 50 inch TV can I buy.

Is full HD possible, and does it matter?
I am not looking for 3 D or Smart features.
