with media player i m not able to understand how i ll get 5.1 channel output?

Anil...there are 2 ways to get 5.1 from a WDTV media player and it depends on your AVR / HT.

1. If your AVR / HT has HDMI out ::
WDTV >>>(HDMI)>>> AVR >>>(HDMI)>>>TV = This is 2 sets basically routing the content thru the AVR to process the 5.1.

2. If your AVR has a digital IN ::
WDTV >>>(HDMI)>>> TV &
WDTV>>>(Digital)>>>AVR

::yahoo:I finally conected my lenevo lapy with TV through a VGA cable and 3.5 mini audi jack for sound.

i m able to view every movie now but i have to compromise on 5.1 sound(although my HT convert stereo sound into 5.1 but still not getting the atual 5.1 sound)

i watched a movie cum documentry called " IMAX ALPS climb of your life through my lapy a 720P video) and some swiss loaction are so wonderfull to watch in the TV, the colors looked so natural and PQ was awesome.

so finally i have seen some really good quality video and now i m really happy:clapping:
