Hey guys i bought the v20 for 72k from ebay seller on 26th and the set got. Delivered today itself. Just loving the pq and sincerely i find it better than any other series in panasonic vt20 or st30.
The tv is in perfect condition got it delivered by tnt.
What u think guys???

This is the effect you get when you see a plasma TV @ home for the first time.
Comparing V20 @home with VT20/ST30 @shop is not wise.. VT20 atleast is as good as the V20 for 2D and has a better AR filter.. Not sure of the ST (still).

But seriously telling dude, when i compared v20 and vt20 both at the showroom somehow v20 looked better even after similar display settings. That made me tend towards v20 and now i think that it was reasonable justified to save 8k for 3d as till now its not much prevalent in india and i bought a blu ray dvd player instead of spending 8k more

V20 has a lighter AR filter hence capable of slightly brigter output with same settings. VT20 has a darker AR filter and hence slightly better in bright environments but a tad darker. Will require different set of caliberations. I personally like the silver finish of the V20. Looks great.

V20 is not a bad choice at all by a mile. Enjoy your TV.

I've to agree with you. Twice I had compared them side by side on two different days at different timings at different shops and under different lighting condition. VT20 does something extra which I do not like - V20 looks much natural to me. It is very minute and I definitely can't put my finger on it. Personally, I will pay more for V20 than VT20 but thanks to panny they priced it otherwise :yahoo:

The VT20 was voted the best plasma of 2010. While there might not be a major difference between the V20 and the VT20 abroad, there should be some significant difference between the units sold here as the V20 sold in India does not come with the PRO series panel (NO THX) like it does in other countries. However, The VT20 sold in India is the same one that's being sold everywhere else.

Would like to hear more from you guys about this. I'm just about ready to head out to the store to pick up the VT20 simply because it was touted as the best 2D performer, certainly not for the 3D.

VT20 does something extra which I do not like - V20 looks much natural to me.

After too much reading , I come to realize the extra portion which was not liked by you can be controlled by settings. One it was moving the video too fast and the dark scenes were completely invisible, I guess that has something to do with the settings. But hey at the price point nothing can beat V20. :clapping:

The other point to remember is that in store the settings are fairly poor. The fact that you could find the differences in ST30 and v20 are good, because post callibration the v20 will be much better as the professional modes are very good. The vt20 on the other hand has THX settings so the callibration options are even more. So for the nitpickers it can be a field day.

To enable darker darks, the panel in the vt20 is different, but I believe with settings callibrated you can get a much superior picture.

I like it currently, dont know how much of the callibration will change in real life, will show pics post 100 hrs when I do it.

They told they cannot match 75k of devi but can give 3D glass worth 5k and some scratch card (3k) free. I agreed.
They have 14 units left all over india.

Amol called the contact and it is apparently applicable to only to hyderabad.. If you are out station, they will ship from here directly to you. You cannot collect it from local croma.

got it from same Kanpur seller? because on Ebay he is the only seller?
why 72k? didn't have ebay coupon?
BTW I also got my package of 50v20 with dvd player yesterday... just loving it..Everything is well packed and unopened..
I tell you at home it looks 10 times better than shop even in normal mode..

I want to thank all forum members and experts to help me in deciding my HDTV..It was a long tiring journey..
I bought 50V20 along with DVD player...
the package sent to me was very well packed and through international courier and he sent me the bill through different courier to save 5% service charge..
Now I can recommend this seller without a doubt..I paid without Ebay protection and with Ebay protection it would be more safer..
71k (including shipping) would be a very good price if you are not living in metros..
I am quite happy with my TV's performance and I would say that PQ looks even better in normal mode with moderate settings than in dynamic mode in showroom..
I have a bright room with morning sunlight falls on TV directly and inn night tube light facing directly on TV..STILL PQ is amazing..
