Panasonic plasma V20 series group buy

Kohinoor in Dadar put up 50V20 for 96K. Asked for reduction and the salesman said 75K without a blink. Had I shown some interest in buying he might have reduced it by another 8-10K.

@Kittu, was your negotiation limited only to the 50" or did it include the 42V20 also. Do advise the price in Bangalore for the smaller size (negotiated or otherwise).

The final prices obtained by Naimesh and yourself are phenomenal, here in Dilli the best offers are 85K for the 50" & 54K for the 42" both being V20 series.

No stocks of 42V20 , so moved up to 50 incher. Btw saw the sharp LE830 in action , it was nice (just to my eyes) but the price tag was directing me to hospital...:o In your case 42 is better with 30k price diff....

Great work Kittu, I could never imagine bargain deal without your support... BIG THANK ..to Rahul too..

Actually in mumbai , croma is quoting similar prices (news aaj tak :D)... Please check with your near by croma.

Went to Croma near my house.
They exhausted the stocks of V20.

They had VT20 in stock though.
Cost quoted was 1L initially.

When I turned back to leave, he said I cannot get this TV anywhere else and that he will price match any price from anywhere else from india.

It was as though he wanted to get rid of a dangerous item.. :ohyeah:

Now, whats the quote from croma mumbai?
The stock list he showed "truck loads" of VT20 with end of scrollbar not visible. :D

Anyone has confirmed/negotiated quotes from Croma mumbai?
If it is around 80k.. :licklips:

Yes , but not on paper . I am sure he will call you in a day or two , if you left the number . :)
i dont know but i have seen many buyers get scared when dealers drop price of some items. 50vt20 at 85k and many think there must be some issue with the set. There might be various reasons for such an attractive price: stock clearance, problematic piece, demo piece, etc etc . But many forget it was a hot plasma when it was being sold at 1.5lac to 1.9 lac..so when this item is being sold for 85k and if it is a sealed piece then just go for it. floating blacks, black rise is the only issue which you have to adjust to, otherwise PQ is awesome, THX, 3d, good features. Come on guys why isnt 50vt20 not worth 85k

Where is it being quoted 85k? :)

42V20 at 45/49K - Croma Bandra West. I was more interested in 50VT20 so did not inquire much about V20 (demo or fresh piece).

Btw, I picked up a Logitech MK260 wireless keyboard / mouse combo + Logitech speaker Z103 at 1799. Using it right now with Vaio connected to PK550. Such fun!

^ 45k or 49k...killer pricing btw. I am going to screw them tomorrow. :P

Can you screw them over weekend? I want to make another visit to demo the HX925, EX720 and NX720.

I hope the price was not for a demo piece. Are you interested in buying or already purchased at a higher price? Can plan to visit some more stores.

You meant this right, " I am going to see them tomorrow " or ;) .

lolz...yeah right

Can you screw them over weekend? I want to make another visit to demo the HX925, EX720 and NX720.

I am interested in buying, Croma is just few meters from my place(CBD Belapur) but they don't have 42V20 in stock. I'll ask them to get the reduced prices.

Gossssh! I stay at Mahim West. CBD Belapur is quite a distance from here. I just presumed you were nearer to Bandra - my mistake.

Visit the store and let me know.

So they dint have the vt20 is it? Or were they telling out of the roof rates? ;)

The saleman said they never received stocks of VT20 since it's launch.

Back to 42V40, during my religious visits to Croma over past 3 Sundays, I have seen the prices tumble. 75 -> 64 -> 59 -> now 45/49K odd. Hope they have boxed sets (not for me but fellow members who are interested).

Never thought that buying a panel would turn out to be such a complex affair

@ Kittu, thanks for your inputs. Now since you are the only (so it seems) apart from me who has seen the 830M in action what do you say to the model @80K. This was the lowest offered to me as of date. I ask you this as in if you were to compare this with other LCD/LED panels that you have seen with similar class leading features.

The thing is that I need to buy two sets, one for my parents room wherein tv usage will be a good 8~10 hours a day. Hence looking at the 830M with an eye on power consumption and another eye on the load rating of the backup inverter. The second tv will be for my own room usage is 2~4 hours a day including weekends. Usage being in the bedrooms I am not very keen on the 50".

Coming back to the PDPs it is good to know that Croma Hyderabad has the VT in stock (that too in large numbers) as do Croma in Bangalore and Bandra. As for Croma in CBD saying that they never received stocks, they are lying through their teeth. I learnt this the hard way when chasing the outgoing model of Macbook pro earlier this year. The Cromas involved were the CBD store (call it coincidence) who claimed the stocks were over and the other one being their flagship store at Mulund where I got not one but two sealed and one demo pieces to choose from. I did go back to the Croma at CBD and the SE owed up saying that it was his job to push what was in the store first and only very rarely will they pull stocks from another store if the customer is very very adamant. I was advised that this arrangement of pulling stocks works on a national level at Croma and I am going to Croma in South Extension tomorrow (rather later today) to try it out and see if this indeed works out. 42VT20 or even the 42V20 for that matter @ 45/49K is as if Diwali has come early. Fingers Crossed.
