Panasonic ST30 Owners Thread

Hi,
Do we need a stabiliser for the p50st30? I am running it without any stabiliser and have connected the tv to a belkin surge protector. Here, where I live, we don't have voltage fluctuation. even our refrigerators are running without any stabilisers, and I have been using my PC for more thana decade without any stabiliseres. Do I need one?

what i see as risk is , for example on power failure ,when TV returns to power , it might simply displa the AV name , for STB/PS3 etc..

or if you have 1.4 HDMI cable , the TV might automatically turn on your PS3 and might display static image.

thats why i said its better to run it under supervision. IIRC , even avforum advised in similar fashion during breakin period , although its for slide method

valid point

I got panasonic P42ST42 installed yesterday. I'm very happy with it's peedormance. I got it from panasonic brand shop for 59k after hard bargain with 2 glasses. I checked the usage hrs just 5 hrs. What should be the ideal display settings for break in period? I thank this post for deciding on this tv.

Congratulations on your new purchase. Could you upload photos of the panel.

Congratulations on your purchase. If you are not doing the 100 hr break in slides then have the contrast, brightness to 50 or less during the initial 100 hour. Don't have static content on the screen for a very long time.

I'VE heard it;s available for a much better price in bangalore.. i've seen a group buy u may want to join

Just found yesterday ,

If you are using HDMI 1.4 version to hook up the St30 and PS3 , then you can control the media player , switching on/off the ps3 with St30 remote itself .

If you select the A/V source to PS3 , it will fire up the PS3 , no need to manually press the start button on PS3 (cold boot)

Once inside and while viewing movies , you can play/pause , bring up options using the remote control itself.. Kind of cool , no need to get a PS3 blu-ray remote :D

Another thing i found out yesterday is ST30 detected my 1TB NTFS format external HDD and listed all the videos in it. Sad thing is it just lists everything without any folder structure. 3D videos didnt play quite well though. Not sure whether it read in all port or just the one marked HDD behind the TV in the USB section.

Yet to try good , big MKV`s , will report back once i do.

would the prices on the ST30 drop once the ST50/GT50/VT50 arrive in India ?

Would that be the most ideal time to buy a 50ST30...?

Don't think Panasonic will bring ST50 before 2012 nov-dec. They still frantically trying to sell remaining VT20s. VT50 India release probably after VT60 is announced.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
