Panasonic ST30 Owners Thread

I bought 42ST30D last week with 1 3d glass.
Running it at break in configuration everything reduced to 30% setting with brightness at -15.
Things look good, waiting to complete 200hrs to turn things up for best settings.
Playing ps3 with no static icons or logos.
I dont see pixel orbiter or IR setting in setup menu, wonder what is wrong?
Also i see zoom option in normal tv viewing, but not in any other content via usb playback.

Congrats! Enjoy your Plasma!
What was the price?
You will see the pixel orbiter setting under Advanced Settings option in Picture Settings menu.
Yes, I too noticed that zoom does not work for USB Playback.
Enjoy!

In my case the installation guy was reluctant to mount the bracket(big) on a 3/4 inch rubber wood.

We had to ask our carpenter to attach the big bracket.

He went off and couldnt reach , will have to contact them again. Also Panny`s wall mount policy is PATHETIC !! , wall mount within one month is free ? what if the room is under some construction ? am i supposed to wall mount on unfinished wall ?

Even local service guys give varying installation cost. few weeks before it was 500 RS now he says 750 Rs , and he said he would consider the cost and reduced to 500 Rs , havent paid yet though

any idea on screws which goes into the TV ?

Mine was installed on Plywood Paneling. Panasonic guy did not use the screws supplied with the bracket, instead used a separate set of screws. They were much thinner and smaller than the former. I figured since it was for wood, he was using less thicker screws.

Thanks man, but there is no advanced settings under picture settings menu.
Can you send me picture or snap?
I bought it for 55k.

Did you get any 3D glasses and HT with it?
As per the original ST30 offer (from Panasonic), the ST30 used to be offered with one 3D eyewear only. And each new pair used to cost Rs. 9,000. That was a big bummer and the reason why I stayed away from ST30. Since then Panasonic has revised the price of glasses downward to 6K or so.

The HT offer (from Panasonic) was with certain 2012 (50 series plasma and some LEDs) only. Any HT offer with ST30 was clubbed by dealer, AFAIK.

But the dealer with whom I was dealing was offering 2 pairs of 3D eye wear (or is it eyeware?), and HT. Price was also a little more than without the bundle.

I am not a video phile so except few movies which were bad in no matter what brightness i set, the system was great.
The main reason was also a big ass window right in front of the wall i mounted the tv.
The neo pdp filter is holding its ground.

It means the unit was on showroom mantle for 80 hours.

The air ducts and the screw holes in the back of the tv was clean. I figured the hours were in panasonic assembly or testing lab. There was no IR or burnin to suggest tv was used as a demo. With 3 yrs warranty i guess 80 hours dont count for much.

Agree!!! I am supposed to get ST30 in lieu of existing Plasma. Now, when I visited a brandhshop is NCR, he was surprised.

He said there are no stock available. How can company give you one??

Also, he told me it is possible to reset the hours used and he can do so in front of me.

Now, this is shocking!!!!!!!
Even I would like to know how to reset the working/clocked hours on the TV.

Ask the salesman how to do it - ask him to show in front of you. Actually they do not even know how to check the clocked hours in the first place.

I tried a factory reset at various places. It reset everything - but it did not change the hours.

I did....he showed mw how to check though...he was showroom owner...not the sales guy...

Anyways, I was at Sargam electronics to buy a microwave and guess what, they were cleaning a Sony HX model with some toners & soft clothes...

Later they packed it and sent it across to the customer..Trust me true class act..Even they cleared ducts and were seen cleaning marks on back...

Poor guy who gonna get that delivered :-(

Kix: How about ST30 not in warehouse , so how can company claim to provide it?
Oh yes. The guys at the showroom are very thorough. They deal with the situation day-in and day-out. They know how to make the display items look brand new. Now this does not really matter for most common consumer goods such as fridge, washing machine, microwave, etc. For TV, that is a different matter.

To answer your Q, if ST30 is not in warehouse, then you are not going to get it. You have to be extra careful on this - you may be dumped upon with a used piece. But as far as I know, the usage hours cannot be reset from TV menu. Maybe with special tools, etc., could be.

This is really disheartening to hear that how these guys r cheating customers...I have started to switch my mind to buy an lg LED.. at least I have been satisfied with LG before....:(...
